color-key headlights, installing angel eyes
4 day weekend is about start, and im ready to repaint my headilght housings and install a halo. If u check my old post, u'll see that i've already blacked out my headlights, but then i went to home depot today and found a spray paint that is like 80% similar to my mystic blue, so imma color-key my headlights to my car~
i've also bought angel eyes and will customize them tomorrow to fit around the turn signal.
wish me good luck~

ok, now im done spray painting, but then im having trouble with the halos. The ones i buoght are designed for bmws and their headlights have much bigger diameter than what we have on our car. I intended to bake the rings in an oven for a while and bend them, but they are impossible to be bended due to the high quality plastic. So what im thinking now is to glue them around the headlights, inside the chrome dish. But will the chrome dish get so hot that it might melt the rings? and is it hella illegal?
please response quick, i gotta go out tonight and gotta finish this project asap. Thanks!

Any modifications to your stock headlights are illegal but there aren't many cops out there that will stop you just for that. Post some pics of the problems then maybe it will help us understand better. Good luck!

heres a pic, as u can see, if the plastic ring is not bent and cut, its impossible to fit around the turn signal. But it does look like i could fit it around the headlights

maybe you could try using a rim of similar size for a mold and fiberglass a new housing for the whole thing. I don't think you should bend the halo because the projectors are also round so it would look a little warped.
i was going to use 96 honda civic projector headlights to retrofit my lancer. i gave up - but i still have the parts. the angel eyes are like 95% the same diameter as the turn signal, and i believe would be a much safer place to put them.

okay, but u guys will be disappointed.... cuz i didnt do a very good job on bending the plastic ring, and its not a perfect circle.... i'll redo it over christmas or something.
Also, the color that i bought turned out to be pretty off....too light. but it still looks pretty cute. i might re-black-out later, depends how i like it in this month
