Seibon? VIS? and mabey some others?

Hey, Im going to buy a carbon fiber trunk. I want either Seibon or VIS since I know they are good. Ive searched all over and cant seem to find a decent place to buy one at a fair price.... Some sites are asking like $660.... waaay to much.

-Where did you buy yours and how do you like it?
-what did you pay? (PM me if you would like)

thanks.

Edit : I bought a Seibon carbon fiber trunk for the evo VIII. This thread is old and is now basically for Q and A. Feel free to post questions about trunks and I will try to answer the questions from my experience with mine. Pics of the fitment are lower on this page.

I got mine from a local shop. I paid $475 shipped. But I got a good deal since I did the shop's website. Carbon trunk's aren't cheap and I havn't seen them much cheaper than $600 shipped on most websites. I know ebay usually has VIS trunks for sale for $380, but then they want you to pay another $150 for shipping. Which still isn't too bad. You can also try to go directly through VIS. Or wait until someone on the forums sells one.

Well. to update this thread and mabey try to answer your question... I ended up buying the Seibon CF trunk for the evo VIII.

It went perfect really. quality trunk. perfect weave. Good construction. Only issue was the tension bars that hold the trunk open. Even with my CF evo VIII wing on it it would fly open. Plus the bars actually started warping the trunk to the point in which it wouldnt shut. To fix this I just took both bars out (so it wouldnt be uneven) and it has settled down and I havnt had an issue since.

Mabey you need to bring the trunk back farther on the hinges? or even raise the hinge attached to the car up with some washers under neath it. what trunk did you get?

heres some pics of mine and how it fits. (Seibon)

this is when I was actually drilling the holes. you can see the tape.

any other questions, ask away. Ill try to help best I can on this subject.
