Dude, I've already told you that once you take out the stock head, there are metal brackets on the side that you have to remove and put on the aftermarket one. I'm not sure if it's different for you, but everyone else on here has done it this way, and it worked for everyone else.

edit: I was wrong, the lancer rocks and the stock metal brackets that screw to the stock headunit can be removed and screwed onto your headunit.

Yes, the stock metal brackets, that are screwed into the stock headunit, work fine without spending extra money for a dash/ installation kit. The only thing you should have to buy is the harness.

This is very easy to install, just take their advice the stock bracket are so easy to remove. Its only 3 screws on each side. And most aftermarket units has multiple holes on the sides for you to put brackets.

^^ Haha mine only had 2 screws in it to start with and then I stripped 2, so there is only 1 screw on each side holding my deck in right. Surprisingly it hasn't shifted or anything at all.

yah, installed it no problems when i put in my new head unit. If you can't do it yourself go take it to a audio shop and get it installed before you mess up your wirings or do something bad to your car.

Aftermarket harness, 18$. Bout maybe 30-45 min with a crimper and some wire splices and pieces of heat shrink. MAYBE 10-15 min with a screw driver in the car and the new head unit was in. Ive NEVER seen a simpler audio install on any car me or my family/friends has owned. If something isnt working youre doing something wrong or youre not working on a Lancer

Are you talking about the trim ring of the deck?
