We all know that there will always be a faster/better car. I know that there is a Lancer on here that could take your evo. There are plenty turboed lancers here that have proven themselves against evos. Before you start calling someone dumb I suggest you know your facts. There has been a 4g63 swapped into a lancer. That shows how much you know.

We understand you're point, but your not going to get anyone on this forum to tell you that thier car sucks. Is it just lancers or do you hate all fwd cars? As far as the wing is concerned... The evo wing happens to be a nice alternative to all the other crappy spoilers on the market. The paint matches perfect, it fits OEM in the stock holes (of the stock low-pro spoiler) and the carbon fiber is top notch. As far as the downforce is concerned, I take my wing off when I go to the track or road course. You may think it looks horrible on the lancer but that you're opinion and thats fine, but arent we entitled to ours? All of the evo owners I know in my town think it's pretty rad that lancers are being turbo'd and track'd but I really don't know what you're deal is.

People are not saying that their Lancers are better than EVOs or that their Lancers are EVOs because they have a wing on it. I'm not seeing people putting EVO badges on their cars. You are stuck on this idea that everyone wants their car to look like an EVO and not thinking that people just like the way the EVO looks (and yes there is a difference). You also have to take into consideration that many of the body kits and parts for Lancers imitate EVOs so their will be people that put stuff in/on their Lancers that resemble the EVO. You are also saying how all we need to do is spend an extra couple of thousand dollars to buy an EVO over a Lancer. Since I take it you have never looked at a price comparison or have ever bought your own car you would know that this is not true. I bought my Lancer $7500 its a 2003 and had 25,000 miles on it. If I bought an EVO in the same condition it would have probably cost me around $25,000 (if not more). So you are saying that if I spend $17,500 on my Lancer it still wouldn't be as fast or look as nice as an EVO? And yes a lot of middle age women own lancers...but I haven't seen any with their cars modded.
We all know the lancer is a whole different animal than the evo. Aside from the interior, they are completely different. I don't recall reading anybody saying that they put the evo wing on their lancer because they wanted it to look like an evo. They just put it on because they wanted a different wing than the OZ wing and the evo style wing looks the best. I've seen evo style wings made for all kinds of cars. Just because lancers and evos happen to be made by the same company doesn't mean we are trying to be an evo. Personally, I like my lo pro wing. It all just comes down to individual preference on looks. This has just been blown extremely out of proportion, and I would like this thread to get back on topic. This was a good thread with some good pics of some very nice rides. Lets just get back to the pics.
the deal is that the guy has no vision. He thinks putting down $$ into an engine swap or a turbo upgrade is the same thing as putting down a payment on a EVO
What do you not understand that not everybody can be financed for an evo right off the bat? Do you not understand not everybodys first car is there dream car or an evo? Do you not understand putting money into an engine swap or buying a turbo for a lancer that's paid off is not the same as putting down a payment for an evo in which your back in the HOLE 15-20 MORE GRAND.
Do you not understand alot of people don't have high paying jobs to afford gas, insurance, monthly payments on an evo and if they did have a high paying job and could afford it ...what is so cool on spending your whole paycheck on a car that gets you to point a and point b just as easily as any other newer car?
Do you not understand not everybody cares about going fast or racing at tracks? Do you not understand people have families, children, and rather just have a cheaper car in order to spend more $$ on loved ones rather than themselves?

it's just a car, take all that emotion you put into your evo and put it elsewhere.....let's say like FAMILY?

Alright im gonna be the neutral party here, i didnt read the entire argument i just skimmed through it a bit.
Im a Lancer owner, not an Evo owner. Im not speaking for everyone since a good bit of them might actually think it DOES make the car faster. But the reason i (and im assuming many other Lancer owners as well) do work to their car is just because they want it to look nice. I realize my car is slow as ****, but i never really mention the speed, i dont act or drive like its a fast car, but i never say its a slow car. I have people give me that whole -

"OH S***, ITS AN EVO?! THOSE ARE FAST AS HELL!"
conversation, i have had that so many times. I just tell them its not an Evo, its an OZ Rally, i dont mention the speed at all. I add things to my car for personal satisfaction, not that im trying to make it look fast or not that im adding spoilers and **** to add power. Im adding parts and stuff to it because i want it to be different, more than just a stock Lancer, so it stands out a little more, not too wild and ricey, but just some minor things to make it look different. But again, i never say its fast, i never act like its fast, the stuff i do is so it doesnt look stock, so it looks good to me, and so it stands out without looking too ricey/fruity. I mean my co-worker had this conversation with me one time after we walked by my car after we got off -
"Yeah man, i've ridden in one of those Lancers before with a buddy of mine, it was just like yours. Those are fast little cars man, let me tell you."
"Yeah, i really like it."
I dont mention the speed, i dont agree, i dont tell him its slow as **** because i have an ego myself lol. But seriously, not speaking for everyone here, but not everyone puts on a spoiler on their car to make it go faster or to fool people into thinking its an Evo. Its Mitsubishi's mistake for making a fast sport model out of an economy box, i mean they make money off of it, but you cant blame anyone for people who cant tell the difference. That is all.
