since i was asking in another thread but couldn't find anyone who knew the P/N i went ahead and grabbed it myself. i'm driving up to NH tomorrow to pick one of these up to put on my car. i think it will look awesome, here's the P/N that i got direct from mitsu up there: MN126768.

by the way, this is for an 04-05 evo VIII. the tech said that after 05 the style changed. i've heard of people using the 05 frame so i hope to do the same. i might post pictures after i install it and patch up my bumper.

 

Okay. question? I know the Evo plate holder is usually on the left side of the bumper. Drivers side. Where would it even mount on our lancers? I was thinking of doing the same..

 

I just drilled two holes in the drivers side of my bumper, rolled the license plate a little, and mounted it up with bolts. I couldn't justify having the license plate right in front of my FMIC, even though how i have it mounted now has half of the intercooler covered up by the bottom of the bumper

 

it should mount okay on our lancers, i've seen at least two different cars that have it mounted with an evo plate holder. i've also seen a 04-05 lancer with it, too... i can imagine it would fit on those ones better, but it can definitely be done.

i'm also going to pick up a set of ventshades, too. i don't smoke but i think they look mean, haha. all the guys at work think i'm tossing my money away--but it's not their car.

 

I have one off an '05 Evo, i'm willing to sell for dirt cheap. Give me an offer shipped.

 

i ran up to nashua and got mine this morning. i installed it as soon as i got home and right now i'm just letting a bead of silicone dry around where it's screwed into the bumper. this should keep vibration down. it looks so much better than just sticking the plate right on the bumper.

i also put on the ventshades, they give the car a mean look. i like it. in addition to all that i am fabricating a custom short antenna since i can't justify spending $30 on one when i can just make one myself.

finally, my ralliart grille came in the mail (thanks, ozrally0303!) and my girlfriend is taping it up for me so i can get some paint on it before it gets dark. for the deal i got on it i could deal with spending an extra $20 on some color matched aerosols.

at the end of the day when everything is dried and attached i should have some pictures to put up in this thread.

here are the pictures! i wish i had the ralliart grille on but the clear is still drying on it. itis by far the best damn finish i've ever seen come out of an aerosol can... ever. my boss told me about this tiny place a few miles from my house and they mixed me up some Y01 and clear with hardener for like $30.
