7 hrs and 30 min later...

dewoods dashboard is complete!

okay first things first, i bought my car several months back and it had a very messy spray-can type job done on the dashboard/doors. As you can see it's white and blue (lol)

after tinkering around with a lot of the bolts, and poping out a lot of pieces, my cuz (in the car) helped me take that bad boy out and we threw it in the back seat.

this is acutally not as bad as it seems, there wern't that many chords to disconnect and the airbag was already unplugged (thank you previous owner, jackass)

heres a pic of all the pieces together, not that many

today, i took off work and skiped one of my college classes (lol) and droped by advanced auto parts and bought 2 bottles of flat black, 1 bottle of gloss black, 2 bottles of black primer, some sand paper, and painters masking tape ohh and gatoraide with that mask thingy

next i sanded all the parts (boring)

cleaned with rubbing alcohol
applied 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of flat black interior paint and wahlah!

i think it will look cleaner in the morning, but here it is at night

*definently the hardest part was getting it back into the vehicle. i had to reconnect the chorts and push and screw everything back into place. it would help if i had someone to help me but i kind of feel more satisfied knowing i did everything myself

if you have any questions or want to see anymore pics feel free to ask!

also, i was afraid to reconnnect the airbag so i just left it as it was, does anyone know if it would be okay to reconnect it because i never disconnected it in the first place, the SRS light on the speedomoter is been litten up forever, and that's probably why. maybe i should take it to a dealer?

Holy WOW, does that look a million times better than the blue and white.

Also, you should be fine reconnecting the airbag if you disconnect your battery for 10-15 minutes first.

like the pillars and those plastic pieces by the door? I say yes. I painted my pillars black to better match my oz interior.

I just can't believe you even dared to buy that Miami Vice lancer dash. I wouldn't even bother buying cars or parts from such owners...

At least you painted black but still.. it is painted dude. A painted dash never looks too good specially with spray cans.

Just my .2c

It does look 10X better. Actually I like how your dash looks all blacked out. Now just paint the trim around the gauges and it will look even better.
