A WING ON A FWD CAR IS USELESS AND UGLY. It's just dead weight hanging on the back end. To the guy saying it's "boring" without a wing, it's just tacky and insignificant to performance to put a huge "wing", not spoiler, a "WING" on a car that has less than 120 hp or trq.

And what ambystom01 said, "It will be rice." Please don't try to be "different" by concentrating on cosmetics.

I say it would be best to go with an OZ spoiler if you want one that bad; much more tasteful.

The stock OZ spoiler looks pretty good on an ES.

Why in the name of God would buy the second one? Who really needs a motorized wing that costs $849?

However, if I could vote twice I would, cus I do like the Evo spoiler on it too.

Moto-Riced! +1

Stock ES I'd say just a lip or an OZ spoiler. Adding an Evo VIII on an un-modified car (no body kit) would like funny...

As for those two spoilers, i was just throwing something different out on the board, the first one i actually kind of like, it looks good on this (okay its a neon, whatever) http://wingswest.com/project_archive.asp?page=1&id=14 But it works with a four door car, and isnt as big as an evo spoiler, (which is a litttttle big for what im going for) As for wasting my money on aesthetics, i say why not? its not an evo, it wont ever be an evo, If i dump thousands of dollars into it, i wont be able to make it comparable to a stock evo, so why bother? make it look how i want, and if i can afford it later, then Ill build a performance car with a better base.

Worrying about performance on an ES is pointless (except for suspension, which there can be significant improvement), but im going to be driving it for a while, so i might as well make it look how i want. When i can afford it, ill just buy an evo and make THAT faster!

(And i like the motorized canards, no matter how rice and useless, its something you can use for a laugh and to show off to friends)

The lancer can be made as fast as a stock evo, it's called the wonders of turbo. If you put a large wing on a lancer, you are the stereotypical image of rice. Not only is it a lancer ES (the cheapest lancer humanly possible), it's a FWD, four door car. Why do you need a large wing on a FWD car? Why would you make a car look fast (from a ricer's point of view) if it's still slow? All that will happen is civics, neons, proteges, etc. will laugh and point, as will I.

If your gonna go wing then do it all the way. Go with something from Boeing or Lockheed Martin, or better yet NASA because then you'll look like your heading to the moon. Seriously, and I know I'm talking to a wall right now because your mind is made up, but OZ spoiler or nothing at all is the way to go IMO. I laugh my a$$ off when I see those big stupid wings on FWD puddle jumpers like ours. Put that money towards a turbo and be sneaky fast.

no wing.
especially not a big wing if you must do something.

save your money and buy something worthwhile.
like performance parts or brakes, or a television.

It'd be interesting to see how that mazdaspeed spoiler looks on a lancer, seems to be only slightly larger than the stock OZ spoiler.
