Waxing Recommendation

I finished the first and complete detail today of my EVO.
After looking around and reading information on the net, I thought I'd share my experience with you.

Mother's makes a 3 step kit for waxing. Step 1 is a pre-cleaner which cleans the paint of all oxidation. Step 2 is a sealer/glaze and not really necessary. Step 3 is the wax, pure carnuba.

I did 1 and 3 and all I can say is it is the ****! Took me quite some time but the end result is great. I also did the wheels which not only protects the clear coat but makes them easy to clean with normal car wash. Naturally if you use the stronger cleaners you will strip the wax back off.

Any comments please but this was by far the best products I have used. Meguiars is also the other one that tops the list.

Aren't you suppose to wait 6 months before waxing a new car?

No, that is a myth. The paint processes they use now and the time from factory to dealer that paint is cured completely.

I run an auto detailing shop and the only thing I use on my cars paint is IBIZ and Liquid Glass. Nothing else I have used can stand up to the same calibur.

What kind of cloth did you use to dry your car and put wax on it?

You have to wait 3 months to wax a brand new car because the paint still has to harden...and also you should wax 4 times a year...i have my lancer for 6 months and i waxed twice already...every oil change schedule.....The paint is brighter than when i first bought it

I use Meguiars gold class. I use the paint cleaner every other wash/wax. You can wash/wax your car IMMEDIATELY if you want to, and I would recommend doing so. As stated above...paint process is different now than it used to be. Put a coat of wax on your car the day you pick it up from the dealership if you want to And ome more thing...only waxing 4 times a year is a great way to end up with a very ****ty paint job (depending on the conditions of weather, if you park outside etc...). The more you wax your car the better. Wax it every week if you want to. Remember wer'e talking about wax here, overkill is waaaaay better than not doing it often enough. JMO

IBIZ wax is better than Zaino and better than Meguiars IMO

By the time the vehicle is manufactured and then shipped from Japan to the US and onto the showroom flow, the paint is usually fine to wax when you buy it.
