Naw, not really... only thing is that I managed to line up a storage spot for her.. so she'll be going in today actually. As of right now, she's at the detail shop getting washed, clayed, waxed, shampooed and vaccuumed for her slumber time

your thread is a good read for people not knowing what they can do with there cars

i can see why u would want to store her over winter with all that snow, surface rust everywhere underneath plus not being able to drive it aye

hope to see spring come along and mods apearing, keep up the good work mate

Don't know if it was mentioned or not, so i'll post up... Definitely remount that hard line on your brakes mentioned on the first page... Any time a hardline can flex, it can fatigue and break eventually... Huge safety issue over time... I live in a rusty area as well, and see it all the time at the dealership... We usually use a simple tab and a self tapping stainless screw to hold it back to the body...

Thanks a lot... definitely have to take care of that. As well, I got a huge surprise yesterday.... You see, with my CAI when I stored the car last winter and did some work, I removed it only to find a huge hole in the side of the filter from rubbing on the solid clutch line. Sooo... I changed the filter with one my buddy had and repositioned it away from the clutch line to avoid a repeat hole. Anyways, I was up to the car yesterday to see if the seats and floors had dried from the detailing job yet, and I decided to have a look at the filter since the summer was over and I wanted to know if the repositioning had worked out well. When I reached down to feel the side of the filter to see if there was any imperfections, you'll never believe what I found!! ..... NO FILTER! :O ... I have no clue how long the filter has been gone, but it must have fallen off and went back behind the car on the road somewhere at some point over the summer. I'm totally lucky nothing huge happened, but at the same time, she wasn't drivin in any super horrible conditions. Crazy discovery all the same... so that will have to be remedied over the winter.. haha!

Just figured I'd share that with y'all.. haha.

Peace,
-Glenn

Hey guys.... just decided I'd write a little hello since I sorta had something new about the car to say.. lol! Today I went up to visit the car... I was up there yesterday and installed a new filter. So, I came up with the excuse to visit again today in order to start her up and let her idle for a while. Needless to say, just standing there letting her idle wasn't enough and so I took her out for a little ride

The ride was everything I hoped and more.... except 1 thing.. The battery was flat dead when I started, and wasn't quite up to par yet for any load to be put on it. I figured the altenator would cover the slack for driving around, but apparently with the radio on, heater fan blowing, and rear window defogger on, it was too much to handle and I ended up stalling at an intersection. Luckily enough, across the road at this intersection was a local customization/audio/alarm install shop where I knew the guys, so I pushed the car on through the intersection with the assistance of my gf and some random friendly guy. From there, I borrowed a booster pack from the shop and got back on the road again (minus heater, defogger, or stereo this time).

Following the little cruise, I put her back in the storage bay again with my driving itch scratched.... for now

Here's a video and some pictures of the highlights...

I got to say your car looks great. It makes me miss my Lancer. I would like to suggest one little thing. Lose the red brake drums. Black would look better. That is just my opinion.

Actually... it's rough... but, I'm actually thinking that it's a high probability that when the '09 Ralliart comes out, I'll be seeking a trade-in towards one. It's frickin horrible when you have accepted that you're gonna keep and do up a car, only for something better and likely affordable to come out.

I'll have a better idea of that plans probability once the Ralliart arrives and I see the price tag -vs- trade in value. Could end up with a mini part-out yet..... Oh my....

Keeping her looking good. IMO the front would look better with the chrome part of the grille painted black.

The 09 RAs are SICK. I don't blame you for wanting to trade up.
