03_Lancer_ES sloooow build
It's been here since the proverbial beginning of my buildup, and I don't want to go to the pain of finding a 3rd party image host to post the pics on Mitsunation seperately haha.
But yes, i'm Jordan from Mitsunation

uhm...ok! haha. I'll have fun doing all sorts of things regular cars can do, like go up very shallow inclines without getting stuck, and stopping without sliding with these new winter tires haha
So here's an update, with the new front bumper, vent visor thingies, rexspeed spoiler, and summer gravel tires.

Take it from someone who had this problem. You need to get some closed lugs if you are anywhere that gets some decent rain. They will get such buildup on the inside that they will play hell coming off. Nice looking rims though.
Here's my weekend project as it were. I got the following;
1 can 3M (I think) #76 spray adhesive for plastic.
2 metres of black felt.
Good scissors
Good (sharp) exacto knife
I cut out the shape of the door pillar (we'll use the pillar as an example because it's pretty straightforward) with about 6 inches extra. I'm clumsy so I need lots of extra ha ha.
Then I spray the top surface of the pillar (using the wide spray setting on the can) and lay the fabric over it evenly, ensuring enough slack on each side. Pat it down, once it's stuck to the glue, it's pretty well stuck.
Next I spray the top sides and pull the fabric tight over it.
Depending on the fabric's strech-ability (if I may coin a word), you might have to make a cut in the curve at the bottom so you can get it to fit the contour of the panel, I did. Spray glue that curve, I had to hold it for a hit until it tacked down so it wouldn't wrinkle.
After that, cut off the excess on the top and bottom and fold them into the inside of the panel and glue them down.
All I had to do after that was cut off the excess on the sides and glue them over the inside of the lip so they wouldn't come undone as I installed it, as this is what clamps around the post in the car.
The hardest part is not getting glue on the surface of the fabric, but with this fabric, I took a piece of excess and rubbed it on the glue spot and the, ahem, fuzz for lack of better terms, stuck to the glue and it disappeared.
I did this because I painted my interior and that pillar was getting scratched badly by the seatbelt hitting it when it retracted. This is my solution. I did the door switches too, they're ok, but didn't turn out too fantastic. I did them because I painted them and they looked like crap so I wanted to cover that up. And hey, who can't use a little more rally look to their car, right?
I also stuck on my Colin McRae memorial decal.
I will eventually just get black door panels to replace these, the paint doesn't take too well ha ha.

After this, I have seats, just waiting on slowboy racing to ship the brackets (over a month and still counting...) and k-sports coilovers which hopefully i'll get in this week if I can get some (read: a lot of) help

I have had these SPARCO steels sitting in my basement for 2 months now, and my Slowboy racing seat brackets just arrived. So I decided to put them in today. I hope I never ever....EVER have to take these out and put them in again, what a royal pain in the *** working with these brackets. But hey, they work. See attached pictures.
