Custom Interior Paint [How To]

Iight guys so Ive decided to repaint my interior because I was sick of looking at the cheap white the owner had done before I bought the car.
Im planning on going to Daytona Yellow so heres the steps needed.

1. Remove all parts of the interior that you desire to paint.

2. Sand them all down with 240-320(or equivalent) grit sandpaper to make them smooth as well as creating a surface for the paint to more easily adhere to.

3. Set up a table or something in a dry warm place to do the follow steps.

4. Whipe everything down with Mineral Spirits to remove all dirt and grim.

5. Let that dry completely and refrain from touching the surfaces to be painted at any time.

6. [Optional] - When its dry, whipe down what is to be painted with a strong De-glosser. Let dry.

7. [Optional] - When its dry, apply an Adhesion Promoter so the Primer while stick to the plasitc better. I used Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter.

8. Wait up to 10 minutes for Adhesion Promoter to dry, move on to next step AS SOON as the Adhesion Promoter is dry.

9. Apply a Light colored Primer to parts desired to be painted a light color/ or apply a dark primer to parts desired to be painted a dark color. I used Brite Touch General Purpose Auto Primer.

10. Apply as many coats of Primer as needed.

11. [Optional] - If the Primer drys rough or to dry might be best to sand it down with 240-320(or equivalent) grit sandpaper. Remove all sand dust before moving on.

12. Let Primer dry for at least 1 hour at 70 degrees or room temp.

13. Choose the Color Enamel you wish to have. I used Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel. (Daytona Yellow)

14. Apply two to Light coats, Followed by one Medium Wet, ALL within the hour for best results.

15. [Optional] - Apply 2 light coats and one medium wet coat of the Clear coat of your choice within one hour of the color coat for best results. I used Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel Clear Coat.

16. Repeat steps 1 - 15 as many times necessary to paint all of your parts.

17. Let all painted parts dry for at least 12 hours. Over night is the best.

18. Re-install all of your New Painted Interior Peices!

Pics of Finished Product!

FINALLY PAINTED THE GAUGE SURROUND

personally i like the white

also that entire shifter comes apart and you can paint just the surround, the "p, n, r etc." is a piece of glass that pops out underneath. its easy

I agree with lancerman360, the yellow is just too much, it's going to give people seizures. Personally I would have gone with a dark grey. The shift knob is pretty funny too but I'll just leave that alone.
