you have to start with the screws above the gauge surround and work your way out. it all just snaps into place mostly. a few screws here and there.
Wangman- ya man im gonna do some kind of gunmetal or just go straight gloss black all the way around.
i really just like it to be flashy
people know me for being a rebel around here.

I just got done repainting my dash trim and center part that surrounds the radio
and climate controls. I ran into a few unexpected issues. So ill list them and
describe the ways i over came them.
First thing It was a super pain sanding down the center part to get rid of the
factory texture. Took me a few afternoons after work to get it the way i wanted it.
So now it was finally time to paint. I put a few light coats on and then as i started
the third my duplicolor can started spitting specs of paint. Therefor giving the paint
a very rough uneven finish. To overcome this i got some "very fine" steel wool and
lightly smoothed up the paint. It worked like magic! Fixed my paint cap and put on a nice heavy wet coat and presto! Came out looking great.
So now as i start peeling off the masking tape it starts pulling off the mat finish on
the control faces! I should have just peeled the faces off the part in the first place but i though masking would be easier. Anyhow to fix this issue. I got out my googone and razor blade scraper. Peeled off the rest of the mat finish. It was a VERY slow process and left the faces looking scratched in the right angle of light.
Put a new clear coat on them and now they look good as new.
So in closing hope your paint cap does not screw up lol and i would say removing the control faces is the safest way to go, but if you do have problems maybe this will help.
