I "borrowed" a blow dryer from Wal-Mart and stayed on each letter for about 30 seconds. I took some dental floss and just pulled down through the letters. Later on my job let me use their Goo-Gone and I got most of the gunk off with an old credit card and the rest I just scraped off with my finger nail.

As far as the comments like "OMG! It’s not an Evo! Take off the wing!" If a "wing" is what makes your car an Evo then good for you. You got your car for the wrong reason. If I recall correctly the "wing" is also a dealer option from for a Ralliart also (I've seen it in print myself).

It’s not like I'm going to rebadge it as an Evo. Hell, I left on the damn OZ badge just to let people know "It's just a Lancer" so quit you pissing and moaning and go ask your mommy for more mod money. I know it’s not the fastest/best/coolest/whatever car in the world but I'm proud "it’s just a Lancer" not a bootleg Civic. As far as the lights go...I am going to take them off/get rid of them. I know they don't fit the scheme any more. So its whatever.

As far as "rice" comments go...to any domestic owner any import is "rice" no matter how "respectable" the car may be. So you can take your "rice mobile" and shove it.

And yeah...let me put an Evo on my credit card since I can’t pay cash for it. Just to let you know I am in college now so in a couple of years down the road I can be in an "Evo". So please just stop and stay on topic. OK?

I wouldn't think so. It has the make and model of your car on your insurance and vehicle registration. At least in SC its fine…

I dont necessarily think that people are ripping on you for just having an EVO wing. I think its more or less that most think it looks awful on the car in general. That, combined with tacky altezzas which even look terrible on an EVO, and you have yourself a certificed ricer mobile. I'd laugh at that thing if it pulled up next to me. One with a stock wing and stock tailights, I would not. I drove a Lancer ES for a lil :-)

debadged the ES on my lancer.

Took me 2 minutes literally.

Used floss to take ES off
sprayed some brake cleaner on a rag and rubbed off the gunk

no heat necessary. Using too much brake cleaner is probably not a good idea though ...

Hate to break it to you but most of us with Evo's are professional adults. In fact I'm an IT professional so mommy and daddy don't pay for dick like they have from day one.

Secondly, you posted on a public forum. The majority of opinions on here ought to tell you what the majority of the people on the road think this as well. Your car is tacky and looks goofy as hell with that wing.

Humble yourself, your in a sub-par econo car; not a sub par interior and paint Japanese sports car like the Evo.

In all honesty I think a ditch of the wing, a drop and some nice rims would suit your car nicely. No need to drop a ton of money into a regular lancer if you have hopes and dreams for an Evo someday. Save that extra cash so someday you can sport a real Evo with or without a wing.

And the wing is not what makes the Evo but at least it doesn't look ridiculous with it, do to fender flares and more aggressive styling. ( I bought it for the 4G63, Turbo, handling, looks, and well I come from the DSM world so I had to. )

Ahh, right you are. Must be the angle the picture was taken from... looks like a 7 from behind. My mistake. (Keep the wing, you spent the cash on it so you must have wanted it, don't let us change your mind.)

You guys are mean as hell, he left the other badge on for chrissakes. It looks nice beside's the tailights. He's a struggling college student (just like some of us here) It's hard to pay a bigger car payment's go to school, work, and pay rent. I know how it is I'm in school and barely manage, luckily I still live at home or else I'd probably be in a Toyota or Nissan gas saver.
