custom snorkel... maybe

i have been reading on here that it is reccomended that you leave the stock "snorkel" on even when you have installed an aftermarket intake. that works fine for people who have the injen style intake... fits no problem. on the other hand, i have the k@n (did not know before i bought it) so it did not fit. being the person that i am... i decided to make a custom one... let me know what you guys think... its ok to be honest, i am sure it will evolve anyway...

(used to look like this)

I think that is great, only thing I would do would be is not taper it som much and perhaps extend the length a bit.

great Job.

Redesign v.2 should be larger, meaning the space below it now should part of the "intake". Just generally larger overall... What material did you use?

Did you switch out the filter on that K&N sri? Mine has a different air filter.

You should try to make one that opens up more when it gets closer to the filter. Like if the opening dropped down and opened up more?

do you guys think that the shield should encase the filter, or simply surround it on all sides but one (the front)... hard to explain what i am talking about

not that it would be a big issue... but what about heat soak? that's aluminum, right? i can imagine the effects of heat soak under the hood would be worse than with the piece of the stock airbox that would go in your new part's spot.

i doubt we'd have any real issues with heat soak considering an intake doesn't do much for our cars ANYWAY, but it's something to consider.
