Never Satisfied's 2005 ES *Wheel Pics Added*

Well, it's been a long time coming, but I finally got some decent pics worth putting on here.

!!EDIT!! Pics with wheels added !!EDIT!!

If you want to see the full page, including a list of mods and more detailed pics, go to My Cardomain Page. While you are there, you can check out my 2001 Suzuki Esteem.

Above and below are pictures of my take on the "Vortex Generator". I really don't much care for the larger ones like Mitsubishi makes, but I found these cool little guys at Autozone when I went to get my new lug nuts. Took my time installing them with proper alignment and spacing, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Now I just need to get my spoiler. 95% just for looks, 4% because I wonder if it works like the OEM when used with a spoiler, 1% because I was bored and needed to do something.

Anybody notice the shift boot? I didn't much care for the look of the original, too cheap looking. Adjustable short shifter with metal bushings also installed.

Okay, that's the teaser. For the rest of the pictures, go to My Cardomain Page. Pay special attention to the I.C.E. page, since that is where most of my time and money has been spent so far. Or, I've added a link further down the thread that will take you right to my post in the Audio & Security forum.

I liked it because it was low profile. It went on pretty much the same way that the big ones do, just took abit longer to position properly. Once I get my spoiler, it should look pretty cool.

But, I guess I should also note that I am not planning to get a Ralliart or Evo style spoiler.

Shift knob and boot look great. Im not to sure about the vortex generator. May have to see it in person but I do know it doesnt have the actual benefits that the oem ones have.......

does a vortex generator really help our cars? Like make any noticeable difference? I figured they were always just for looks, kinda like putting an evo spoiler on... technically it might help but not realisticly

In theory, sure. But for daily use, unless you intend to break the speed limit to the point of endangering everybody on the road, not really. They are pretty much for looks only.

never, is correct basically.. Ive seen the charts and wind tunnel info from mitsu on it somewhere. Its like 10% more downforce at like 80 mph or something like that when coupled with the evo wing. Its designed to work with the evo wing. If you didnt have the wing, its useless. The evo wing does produce a lot of downforce. FWD car, downforce is rather useless but it does help in highway (highspeed) stability. That is why most fwd cars in scca run wings.

so basically... the VG is for looks unless you race at a track or speed a bit on the highway.

I thought the vg was to reduce drag, not make downforce. Oh I love the shift knob and boot.

I think I payed like $10 for the set. It's just a few little tips, like they cut the tops off of the larger ones. I got lucky that the color matched just about perfectly.

As far as chrome pieces, I am unsure as to what pieces you mean. I would assume that you mean the stereo surround and the shifter console. Those are the factory pieces with the factory finish. I'm actually getting ready to color match those and the little black strip across the air vent section to the silver on the car.

The shift boot is one that I made myself, just because I needed something to do with my upholstery skills and I didn't like the cheap plastic look of the stock one. The shift knob in made by a company called Doja. I ended up being better off getting that one than a threaded one because when I got my short shifter I still wanted to trim it lower.
