Turbo?????????

Hey guys I am planning on boosting my 02 es with no mods just wondering what you guys think of this kit as far as reliability and safety.I am also plannig to run 7 psi at the most. Also for those who are gonna mention rrm kit i don't feel like spending 4k for their kit and I know it's the best but I just want something to have a lil fun with but reliable and safe.

The most common response will be: you get what you pay for... but I don't know a thing about turbos so I'll let someone else critique this product

You do indeed get what you pay for. Let me put it this way, I would not put that kit on my car nor would I accept it as a gift.

from the pics it looks good, it is using the same turbo i plan to, but it seems a lil cheap for all the parts u get,
buy it and then u can check the quality of them,
even if u need to replace the IC and IC piping coz there crap, u still have the rest of the kit which is cheap for 780 i spose

I suggest that you don't turbo your car without modding it... Leaving your car stock and putting a turbo is going to overheat/blow up your engine.

If you hadn't noticed, this is an incomplete kit and is universal...not "just for" a Lancer! It'll get you started, but it's missing very key pieces; fuel mgmt, turbo mani, etc etc...

its another standard incomplete, unreliable, untested Ebay kit.
don't waste your time with it.
Sorry to tell ya., but your not gonna get a turbo kit for under $1000

either buy a RRM kit for $4k'ish
or build a custom kit for around $2k, or find a used RRM kit, which will run between $1-3K

I've read around here(I think, not so sure what exactly I read) that the Lancer runs pretty good with 5psi, stock.

For 250$ there is no way you'd get a real T3 turbo, it'd be a generic knock-off. Same goes for the wastegate and blow off valve. Hell a good blow off valve can cost 250$.

You got it. 5 psi for non-intercooled and 7psi for IC. If you go any higher you gotta upgrade your internals (pistons & rods).

I guess the only thing we can tell you is to go custom to get a lower price. It might take longer to get the parts but you'll make it.
