This may come to everyone as a surprise, or you might just agree with me and think it is typical, but lately my lancer hasn't been acting the same since I dropped it on those megan coils. First, a week after I have them on, a bolt falls off the coil and horizontally positions my wheel as depicted in pictures 1-3.

My car gets towed home, fixed 1 day later and driving back to work.

Fast forward 3 months, which was 3 days ago. I was driving with a couple friends around town, hit up the beach, hit up Islands... the usual. Well I had noticed since the last time that I retuned the suspension and leveled everything out, and also rotated the wheels and tires, I noticed that I was having a strange almost TINY wheel hop feeling in my pedals and steering wheel. I figured it might either be 1) rubbing 2) bad wheel bearing 3) alignment or the dreaded 4) freakin' axle.

Needless to say, it was 4. It was 4 for this reason; When I put my suspension on, someone that was working on the front must have pulled the damn Axle out of the Transaxle and spilled ALL the CV Boot Grease. They were sly though to clean it up, because I didn't notice... Now you're probably saying to yourself, "Ok Nick... get some grease, fill the cups and boot, and drive away." I said the same thing, thats exactly what I did. End of story.

NOT.

I fixed both boots, repacked them with grease, go to take a test drive... and haha, not haha... more like GOD DAMNIT I pulled out of my garage and my door got stuck on a Shop Vac which decided to get wedged in the corner thus putting enough force to RIP my door out of the hinge and crease it, depicted in picture 4 and 5.

So, that might be the end of a good story, but its not. My buddy owns a liquor store and we had about 20 some people bored out of their heads last night. So, we went down to Scripps (if you live in San Diego you prolly know where it is), for those of you who don't... its near La Jolla Shores (Really Rich area) and UCSD. Nice place. I get trashed at the beach, like had too much. We come back into East County, my buddy Evan drives a 240sx that he drifts so he decides to show off a little before departing in the parking lot. He leaves, Cops come. We all get sat on the curb, run our licenses, know that I'm on probation... As depicted in picture.

Luckily they had a good sense of humor and told us just to leave, no citations or anything... except for a girl who is 17. She's ****ed.

Anyway, the car sits in the driveway... With Ducktape and Suran Wrap to keep the door somewhat closed. Things can suck, but I just got a call back for an interview with Chumby so I'm... feeling a lot better! Thanks for reading, sorry was so long.

Thats how my old Maxima's door looked. Except it was from me getting angry and pushing it the opposite direction of the way it is supposed to go. Sorry to hear that man, it seriously sucks. At least you got your axles fixed. Or did you not?

dam... damage to the door is nuts. lol.

I dont trust shops to work on my car. When I did my coilovers I used a impact wrench to put on every bolt. Apperently those were not torqued correctly.

I can't agree with you more. I do all my work that I am capable of doing. I made sure that every bolt was tourqed to their proper specs when I put the Megan Coilovers on my Lancer.

so who did the work on the car?

really that is the only person to blame...

i know more than a handfull of people on megan coils, mitsu scooby, nissan ... ones with a lot more power , but they were installed correctly to spec...
whether or not your putting the blame on the megans, the poor job of the installation, should not be put on the coils...if you did the work, then the rant is pretty pointless (imo) since you were the one that didnt take the time to double check everything...
