My question is should i just get a body kit and paint it my self or have it done proffesionally and do it stock.

It's all up to how you want your car to be man. If it was me, i'd go the aftermarket route.

I would get a body kit, have some1 paint and install

Oh yeah, Get that ins. check too

you may have to get an approval for more cash from the insurance company. the first appraisal that will be done on your car will be to simply fix the broken stuff... they will not factor in anything other than the most basic paint job (so no blending... so it will be obvious you have new parts on there, the shades of paint will be off). you will probably have the car appraised a second time at a body shop and they can explain why the insurance company needs to shell out more money for the paint work to be done PROPERLY.

the insurance company is counting on you just pocketing the check and not fixing the car, that's why they will give you a relatively small amount if you just take a check.

this was how my insurance worked when i was having claim work done anyway. they cut me a check but it was not enough to cover the extra work for the paint to be blended.

although if they are going to be shelling out dealer prices for a new bumper, headlight, and quarter panel... you should get enough cash to do whatever you want, haha.

good luck with the repairs. stuff like that SUCKS.

im going to go to the mitsu dealer to get everything appraised so everything better be OEM parts cause i`m not doing the whole 3rd party parts again i`ve been through that before. Not to mention paint is my biggest worry.

Yea insurance quotes your damage at the lowest end possible. Dont know whats available for the lancer but Id go widebody if you have the extra cash after they minus ur deductible from the check
