Lol, thx for the comments guys. Those of u in SCLC who are coming to the meet tomorrow will be able to see it in person. Just buy a gas mask cuz my car smells like paint after the first time i put the dash stuff in.

Ill be charging $5 per hour to sit in my car and get high off the paint fumes, I will provide some "out of body experience" music as well
Spoken like a true entrepreneur.

$5 per hour. Five whippits only last about 2.5 minutes. That's a bargain!!!

Lol, my mom isnt comin... she bailed. T-dotlancer, I bought the Evo peice that fits around the climate controls... it swaps right out with our regular lancer's trim peice and it's flat. What you could do is use some sort of filler, cover the top of the trim peice with it and sand it down. That way u spend only $10 instead of $60

Looks just as nice if not better than some of the dash kits out there. I never did like the double sided tape idea. Great work.

Lol, the props keep rolling in. Thanx peeps... (Thinks to himself "Great... now i gotta get newspaper to cover my car so people dont drool in it tomorrow").

If u were to prep the surfaces before u paint it, I would recommend u do 2-3 layers of primer and sand it down. Then apply however many layers of paint u choose followed by a few layers of clearcoat.

What I dont like about dashkits is that they look so incomplete and they are often put on "crooked". Sometimes peices dont even fit right. Painting the dash peices gives it a much cleaner and "stock" look.

If any of you need advice on painting the interior or removing any dash peices, just IM me @ Iamkar33m (That's my AIM screenname) or just PM me.

EDIT: That's not a hairclip on the e-brake. That's the steering wheel mounted remote that came with the headunit. I found it more convenient on my handbrake cuz I happen to use it all the time

Nice work! Glad to see someone take the time to do it right. Gives us all hope we could acheive the same effect with time and a little money. Again, great job.

Was it smooth sailing all the way, or did you have any trouble with the paint not adhering the way you wanted? Just in case I was to try it and f-up the paint job. It's good to prepare for the worst.

TG - I have a thunder grey lancer with the grey interior... I was thinking of either doing a darker silver or black... I'd go a darker shade - the contrast (I think) will look better

Kareem - dude... NICE WORK. looks great!!!
