fixing major scratches on rear bumper
Normally i would be really pissed about this, but since i FINALLY (after a month of phone calls) got all the stuff from www.wheelguyz.com to put my new rims and tires on i'm happy.
I came out to my car today after lunch and got in my car and drove back to work... when walking away from my car from work i see that my rear passenger side bumper is REALLY scratched up like someone hit me...
I can take pics if it would help.
I have the official touch-up paint from mitsubishi but i need to know what to do with it. Do i just use the paint to cover the scratched area and then smooth it out? If that is what i should do how do i smooth it out? Thank you all in advance for any help.

I would just take it to a good local paint shop. If it costs more than your deductable then have insurance pay for it.
Sorry to hear that happened man.
I hate paying for other people's stupidity...

did the scratch go beneath the base coat (aka primer grey)? if not, then it might be easy enough to fix it yourself.
i'm in the exact same boat as you, with a BIG *** scratch on my bumper, and also the rear panel and a chip in my door. i had found a decent how to online, but i just checked it and its disabled. basically, you're looking at some really light sanding with like 2000 grit wet paper, paint a few layers let it dry and buff it a bit. my bumper is gonna be my practise area, and then i'll attempt the other parts.
good luck to us both!

There are some good tips on www.paintscratch.com

yeah, i bought the paint from the dealer... it was like $7 i think for what looks like a fingernail paint bottle. I guess i will try painting it with that and then polish with the sandpaper and see how it turns out. I will not go to insurance, i can't afford that crap. Shops around here charge too much IMO, at least any descent ones. Maybe if i can't get it fixed by myself i can get it fixed when i get my new evo 7 grill painted... like all at once it may make it a bit cheaper. Thanx for the help.

your actaully going to try to sand paper your bumper?
good luck, id just touch it up a tad and call it a day. Since you men dont paint your nails
you may not be familar with this touch up paint. If you use too much it may drip and if you dont use enough youll see brush strokes. have fun. eventually it evens out but you can still see where you touched up.
