Eibach Pro-Kit on my 2008
Eibach Pro-Kit on my 2008
I got my Eibach springs in the mail Friday ($199 from The Tire Rack)...had them installed today. I called about 10 places before I found a place that would touch the car. Installation was $175. Ride comfort isn't affected much at all, and the car stays much flatter through turns/lane changes. I am getting some creaking sounds when turning and hitting bumps at the same time...hopefully this noise wil disappear as the springs settle a bit.
Reduced Fender Gap...

Philips Silver Vision Signal Bulbs - Orange when on, Silver when off...

Debadged Rear, Demonic License Plate Number...

For comparison, here are a few BEFORE shots...taken a day or two after I got the car...back in May:

Excellent..these were my first choice, but got WORKS springs instead.
Let us know how it settles... I'm getting my final alignment this Friday
Eibach drop on the front is 1.2 .... WORKS is 1.1 .... I know I wish mine was a little bit more lower on the front, but I'm sure there is a reason for it... you don't want to sacrifice performance for looks.

No one wanted anything to do with my car or its lowering springs. I called 7 places before I found a place willing to put them on. Some places said they didn't install customer's parts. Some places seemed frightened by the word lowering, and my dealership no longer installs non-Mitsubishi parts. Most places were turned off by the young age of my car...apparently afraid of hurting it, which I appreciate.
I think these springs are a good compromise between performace and ride quality. I definitely wouldn't want it any lower. I can take on a tight turn at a higher rate of speed than before...without feeling out of control. (Just don't get too confident. My Mustang, sporting Eibachs as well, learned that the hard way.) Harsh unlevel cracks and holes in the road are felt more than before, but slight waviness and such in the road is hardly noticed.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've been thinking bout these springs pretty seriously. As alternatives I've also looked at the RRM GRIP v2, H&R, and Works. RRM and H&R seem pretty economical but the drop seems quite substantial? Given the road conditions here, I only want to go with a subtle drop. The WORKS ones would fit that bill but they're a little too pricey for me.
Leaving me with the Eibach ones as the best compromise. Hopefully more people can comment on the ridequality though as I hear the Eibach's arent that stiff supposedly.
Whats everyones opinion on the competition?
