header ?

do you need both cats if you get headers put on

read that you have to have both because of the sensor is this true.

a replacement header eliminates the first cat. you will have to install an electrical or a mechanical device to make the CEL not come on.

i only have one now so when i install i need to put one back on right or wrong
if i do can I put a highflow cat on

No, technically you don't need a single cat but it's a good idea. The header will replace the first cat as it is found in the exhaust manifold. The second is found downstream right after the downpipe.
