Hey guys I am getting my windows tinted on friday...a local place doing lumar film. Any words of wisdom?

 

dont roll down your windows...
oh and go for 20% front 2 and limmo tint on rear windows.... looks good

 

i have 20% all around, i like the even look rather than different tints on the different windows. get the 5 inch stripe across the windshield and sunroof too if you've got it.

can't roll down the windows for 2 days, the tint's got to cure.

dont use any chemicals to clean your windows, i.e. windex. This is the worst thing to use on windows. You should clean your tint with a special cloth pad for windows. They sell it at your local walmart or Auto zone.

 

Don't even touch the film once its on...if you see little things that look like bubbles, dont panic because they go away.

and how much is it for 5 windows and the windshield stripe?
Metallic or Dye?

*has anyone tinted their side rear view mirrors?
I kinda want the blue mirrors..

EDIT: I got a price quote from Jack's friend for $120 for 5 windows..
and $125 for 5 windows & windshield stripe from California Tint.

 

I got 5% all around, kinda dangerous at night but you can have sex and do drugs in your car just about anywere!

 

definitely get the same all around. 2 different shades looks horrible.

 

2 different shades doesnt look toooo bad. I think Sick might be exaggerating. heheh.

 

Yeah I have 15 and 35 and it really doesn't look bad at all. As long as it's not more than 10% difference then there isnt much contrast.

 

ya, if its not much difference its fine, but i agree with rollerpyro, anything more that 10% and it just doesnt look right.

 

my advice is dont pay less than $150 or more than $225

 

why cant i roll the windows down.
