custom made evo style grille......

Here's a pic of what i have been working on for the last week or more... It's like an evo style grill that accolade makes or something, but its made out of abs plastic... I used the stock grille and modified that to make it look the way it is now... It definently was not easy, but a pretty awesome learning experience... I can now make some lip kits and probably interior pieces wit ease... Sorry I only got one quick pic of it painted because i wanted to see where i messed up so i can fix it....

And here is a pic of my custom shorty antenna.... It's like 2 inches... Do you think i should cut it even shorter or not... lol

molded abs plastic eh? Sounds pretty cool. ABS is usually a bit sturdier then fiberglass for something like the grill.

yeah.... its hard as hell to brake especially when its thick.... but the nicest part about this grille is the price... total price for this project was around 10 bucks or so... not including the paint.... lol but it did take me some time because i was learning on it... i bet i could make another one in half time and make it look better.

the color looks a tiny bit off... but i know all about trying to color match this damned yellow!

excellent work on the grille itself though, can you get some pictures with a better camera? i miss my yellow grille! i have to repaint mine now that it's black... we'll see if i do that this summer. the ralliart emblem on there can be a real pain to get off the ABS and then back on.

I'd throw a VG on with that shorty antenna to complete the look.

lo.... thx for the comments guys.... yeah i didn't know where to begin either and was kinda of scared of fu**ing up the grill... It was all a learning process and i could make a second grill way better in way shorter of a time... i got some pics of the process as so you guys can see what was invovled.... keep in mind if i had tools this would have been 10x better... All the tools i used were a soldering iron.... acetone... and sand paper... and a knife.... lol then i bought a dremel towards the end of it....

Here is some pics of the process...

the mesh is built into the grille.... kinda like sandwiched between the plastic...

If you guys have any questions... id love to answer em...
