washed and waxed
i've been slacking when it comes to keeping the car pretty with it being way too cold and winter-y recently. i replaced the lugnuts on the car with some brand new ones since the ones that were on the car were more rust than they were lugnut. i also replaced the screws in the hood pins because those rusted out nicely as well, too. i got a %95 zinc spray coating which i put on the screws before i put them in the hood. we'll see how that holds up i guess.
even though it doesn't look it--the ralliart grille needs a new coat of paint. bad. the clearcoat is holding up because i used decent clear on it--but underneath the cheapo paint has cracked. the really nasty rock chip is just out of range of the camera.
i also have some hazing in the CF hood but that is also due to rock strikes and having the clearcoat shattered on it and now mosture can get underneath it, ugh. i really hate the roads and weather around here, it totally destroys cars.
opening day for autocross is this weekend but i am not going to be able to get up to the event. usually the events are maybe 10 or so miles from home but opening day is up at new hampshire international speedway. it's a long drive up there, beating the snot out of the car all day, and then a long drive back when i am starting my new job next monday.

you can have my smashed-in yellow one, haha!
my hood would be better off anywhere but here, it's a great piece of a car and it's sad it gets destroyed in new england. it also has developed some stress fractures though. there was so much body roll and chassis flex that there were stress cracks that developed around the big vent. i put on front and rear strut bars but the damage has been done... the cracks haven't gotten worse so i guess that's just as much flex as the hood needed. shame it was so ridgid and cracked though.

yeah, it's OEM for an evo VIII. i had the part number kicking around somewhere but i don't know if i still have it. it cost me all of $25 from the dealership and i think it looks so much better than just having the plate screwed into the bumper.
