rustoleum metallic black / thunder gray

i just wanted to know how well the rustoleum metallic black matches our thunder gray color. coz im getting the rrm fiberglass grill and eyelids and dont wanna bring it to a body shop to just color match it when i could paint it myself. i've heard people talking about a 'perfect' match, but anyone have pics of something painted to prove it?

oh yea.. i remember your thread too, but i didnt see many other people doing it and posting pics. but do you think if i painted the grill and eyelids with it, it wouldnt be noticeable that its sorta 'off' color?

it will be close. here is my complaint. I painted my grill (stock grill) with that paint and it looked awsome perfect match. however it wasnt as shiny as my paint so I figured clear coat is the answer. well yes it was the answer and made it shiny and nice however it made it a tad bit darker. So it turned out to be just a shade off. Now you couldnt tell unless you walked right up on it and looked but i did that every day so it bothered me a tad.

On the other hand I didnt clear coat my RRM eyelids and they were dull as well but too light. had I clear coated them I think they would have been perfect. I believe that is due to the difference in the way the paint looks on metal (plastic) versus fiberglass.

I say give it a shot, worse out come is you dont like it and are out the $6 bux the can costs.

try paintscratch.com
you can get color perfect paint in a spray can. Not super cheap, but it will look nicer.
