Bumper Mod - Lancer DE Grill on GG GTS (Lots of Pics!)

So it seems everyone with an 08+ lancer has been painting their bumper/grills black or using a decal like vinyl overlay to give the car a more aggressive "ralliart like" look.

I'm not a huge fan of the chrome around the grill but didn't want to paint it or use a a big piece of vinyl that might peal or look kinda hookie. After doing a few minutes of research, I found that the DE models have a dark grey/charcoal colored grill that comes stock. I was able to purchase it from MitsubishiParts.net and swapped that one for the chrome GTS grill that came with my car. I think it looks great, really matches well and gives the front end a cleaner look.

Check out the pics and let me know what you think. I'm not sure if I'm the first to do this but it is definitely a viable option for getting rid of the chrome.

^^ plus at least an hour of labor and I could never go back to the stock chrome

i also heard some people had issues with having the paint they sprayed on come off or peal.

at least with this swap, it keeps it OEM and if I ever want to switch back when I sell the car I can put the piece up on ebay and probably get back what I paid for it

^you make a good point, but i painted my stock grill black and never problems with it. either way, it does look good, and does save you from the possibility of paint chipping, but 110 is alot for an OEM black grill. i just hate chrome in general, so get rid of that chrome mitsu sign and make it another color =]

I asked the mitsu dealer how much for the DE Grill, he told me about 350 CAD, and I was like WTF!

^^ yea the inner most lights are LED and they stay on white while driving, but when turn signals are put on they blink between white and amber ( i bought the kit for about 100$ from "dafarmer69". ... then the regular low beams are halogen Sylvania bulbs and the outer small lights are white LED. The fogs are Nokya hyper yellow bulbs
