I just installed my projectors and autolevel. Everything works except the DRL but that's because the car's ETACS systems needs to be program so it'll know that it is now equipped with OEM HID.

Can you take a picture of the cutoff. My projectors seemed out of alignment even with the autoleveler.

Sooooo...can someone please give me a straight answer on:
1) Will the oem hid flicker if i put the oem hid into my 2010 SE?

Do you have OEM Projectors? it won't flicker as long as the headlights are on

2) Will the DRL harness that some guy is selling here fix the hid flickering issue if it is connected to the OEM hid system OR is the drl bypass only for aftermarket HID kits?

Only aftermarket HIDs.

3) Will the auto leveler work out of the box once I've plugged in the oem hid? Or would I need to do some extra stuff?

Yes it works as the wires are directly wired to the level motor.

I search for problems on the DRL problem - apparently Mitsubishi has no solution for it even if they use the MUT-III tool to problem the ETACS system.

only solution is to leave the headlights on.

I bought a set of these OEM HID projectors brand new for my 2010 Sportback GTS and they were NOT plug n play. The two connectors (big + small) are the same but the wiring is completely different. The DRL for the halogen headlight is on the outside, when the OEM HID projectors is plugged in w/ the existing wiring, they flicker and the passenger projector turns off immediately. There is no way to get the middle DRL on the OEM projectors to work w/o re-wiring. Luckily, my local dealership did a couple of these installs and now I have both projectors working like 95% factory...no flickering or whatsoever. I'm not exactly sure what they did, but I do notice a relay, a wire going inside the engine bay fuse box, and a couple of wires tapping into each other at the bigger headlight connectors. This is how mine functions right now:

- Key to ON position - DRL in the center lights up (no handbrake release necessary)
- Key ON, switch parking light ON - DRL shuts off, projectors light up (low beam), parking/taillights on
- Key ON, switch headlight ON - same as previous
- Key ON, switch headlight ON, pull lever towards you - projector high beam on, parking/taillights on

So basically the headlight/projector now turns on one step earlier at the parking light stage. Before w/ the halogen headlights, the DRLs remain on and the headlights don't come on until the headlight stage.

I haven't hooked up the manual-levelling switch so I don't know if that works or not.

Hope this clears some things up

First, sorry for heavy breathing, I am currently sick.

Second, not sure why but I know that the headlights supposed to flicker when you try to switch them off, why it didn't do it for me while I was recording this video? I dont know, but it did happen, however few hours before the video was made..

This is for 2009+ Lancers with 2 headlamp connectors, please check if you have them before you attempt to swap them over.. ( Mitsubishi started to offer a "touring package" in 2009 when the new 2009 models came out, the part of the package were these new shiny HID projectors and recaro seats. Thats the reason that only 2009+ models are wired with 2 headlamp connectors, instead of just one like in 2008 models, ~I know i used to own a 08 gts ~

Why the headlamps flicker when I have 2 headlamp connections?? most likely that even you are wired for it, still mitsubishi needs to re-program something to stop it.. not sure on that...

Hope this video helps some of you still interested in swapping the XENON for HID OEM.

If you think its still too expensive there is a alterante route for having HID

Locate a guy by the name of JRox and buy his DRL ( daytime Running Lights ) bypass relay. I think its 20.00, then purchase any HID kit from ebay or where ever and enjoy your HIDs,

If you release the handbrake they'll probably flicker.

Sorry for bringing this back up, but...the projectors have the two harnesses (big and small)

what i want to know is...the bulb itself is d2s. how can it be plug and play when the factory halogen headlamps use a 9006 bulb. The factory wiring to the bulb is 9006. How is the d2s wiring supposed to work with the 9006 wiring?

The main harness wiring plugs (one large, one small) to the headlights are neither 9006 or D2S, it is proprietary to the Lancer itself.

The Headlights have their own self contained harness that the main harness plugs into. From the main harness plug the wiring is distributed to the bulbs on the Halogens which would be a 9006 (low beam/DRL), 9005 (high beam), 7440 (Turn Signal), and the parking light.

On the the Projectors, it goes to from the main harness and then distributed to the ballast which then goes to a D2S plug/socket (HI/LO Beam), 9006 (DRL), 7440 (Turn Signal), and the parking light.

Note: On stock Halogens, the smaller plug, does plug into a socket but does nothing (If your lancer is equipped with both plugs. ie, the headlights work as normal weather it is plugged in or not. I have tested this.)

Note #2: The wide middle slot on the large plug is a circuit board connection, which is a can-bus connection to the ETACS. On the Halogens the only communication that goes on is telling the ETACS if a bulb is not working/burned out, but on the Projectors there is more going on, such changing the behavior of the lights such as proper signal to the ballast to switch from hi and lo beam (via a servo) and then making the center bulb a DRL only and not a hi beam, and also allowing for light leveling.

Hi guys! Some people says the EVOX Projectors are not compatible or need major modification in a lot of forums arround the internet.
NOT TRUE.

Here's the proof.

Here are some pics of the Evo X projectors on my lancer. They are plug-n-play. They fits perfect with NO modifications and took me
like 40 minutes to install including removing the front bumper.

The OEM HID works perfectly!!!

Opinions are welcome as always.

Hi turbotech,

I New to this forum. If i have that 2 connector on my stock headlamp, that mean the connector for levelling switch is also ready inside the dashboard you mean?

Hey, I bought an 09 GTS with the Touring Package...mine came with the OEM HIDs, but I got regular seats...I am pretty sure the Recaro seats weren't offered until 2010....

Hi Pal,

Where is the connector for this auto leveling? Inside the interior panel? Just plug and play will do?
