Changing Grey Interior to Black

Wassup Lancer Ladies n Gents!

I have a 2003 Rio Red Lancer ES... With the $hitty Grey interior. Yuk. I wanna change the WHOLE FN interior BLack. Steering wheel, ceiling, carpet Vynil dash.. the whole 9 yards!

(but spray the air vents ,door handles, center console ect with the rio red paint code)

I've been thinking about how to go about this for a while.... Should i paint the interior??? or use dye?

I found this Dye that with change the whole interior (supposedly)
http://www.parasolinc.com/Product_Ge...al.asp?Link=10

But @ 120$ a pop! plus shipping is pretty pricey! (but PERFECTION never comes CHEAP!!) Has anyone here killed the grey and Blacked out their WHOLE interior?? if so what did you use??? was it cheap?? or expensive???

Comments Thoughts and Help Pleease!

p.s Does anyone know of a cheaper DYE?? or will krylon paint work on the whole dash n steering wheel?

Interesting...I was just thinking of something like this today after looking at Vivid Racing's WRX. I noticed they said they had the rear seats dyed to match the racing seats up front, so I was thinking maybe I could dye all my seats. I wouldn't want to do something like that myself though, I'd leave it to a pro (that is if that kind of service is out there).

I say take out the dash, paint it ALL black. Black carpet. Then get CF a pillar pods from RRM. Get Sparco black racing seats. Re carpet the ceiling black, its not that hard, or have it done. You would have one dark interior, but would look badass. Then after that paint the vents and misc. dash pieces to match the outside of your car.

Those are my plans for the FAR future of my car.

Edit: Oh ya! And get rolls of the fabric of the Sparco seats you choose. Sparco sells it in rolls. And have your rear seats reupholstered in the fabric and the fabric pieces on the door, and have Sparco stiched in the rear seats like the front seats!

I agree. That's probably the best idea as far as the seats are concearned. It will look the most professionally/well done. You'll still need a black roof liner though.

The OZ seats aren't 100% black, a tiny bit of 'bluish' color in the center (as I'm sure most everyone knows) ... But the little bit of color is nice anyway, it breaks up the plain solid-black look, and is much nicer than the ES interior.

If you must have all black, I'd just get the whole thing reappolstered. Paint or dye will probably look cheap and make the fabric feel stiff or strange. Like you said... perfection never comes cheap.

DONT DYE the seat covers!!!!!

Every interior is nicer than the ES interior (my Girlfriend disagrees with me, but she doesnt know any better )

DONT DYE those seats!!!!! I would never do such a thing... i was looking for a big alternative... it was 1 or 2 things. Getting seats from an OZ OR This..... I found the most bad assed TAILOR MADE Racing seat covers!!! Here http://www.eclipsecovers.com/SeatCov...eatCovers.html
Front two seats ($300) ANNNNNND THE BACK SEAT!!! (another $300) Comes in Leatherette, Neoprene (wet suit material) and Velour! These things look so official!

I will be getting the red striped ones! In Leatherette!

Damn dude, i dont know how much money your looking to spend, but for me spending $600 to get seat covers is a little much. This place has a lot of different seat covers for less than $200, and you can get that neoprene (sp?) here is the site

$300 for seat covers?!? Why not just get real seats. They have nice racing seats at pepboys for like $150 each.
