When I painted it, it turned out pretty bright. I was surprised how well it turned out. If you guys try this, put about 4 coats on. Let each one dry before the next, and before you go to put it back in the car let it sit over night. I'm happy with mine. Looks stock!

I just did my intercooler spray button. Looks cool as hell. All I have left is the ring around the ignition. Bling...Bling..., Now I'm pimpin.

I did the red conversion too - actually, everything looks brighter than the speedo/tach... IMO, the instrument cluster is the darkest thing in car, which is why I want to try to replace the bulbs in there with something even brighter so the speedo/tach is a little brighter.

I think that it'because the Tach and Speedo gauges are colored red instead of the colored bulbs, after iI changed everything it turned out really nice. How did you change yours zstryder?

How did you change the speedo/tach bulbs? Or did you just spray 'em red? I don't want to screw up and then have to buy a whole new tach unit..

For the other bulbs, I just spray painted them, about 3 layers. It was still a bit pinkish so I went ahead and wrapped the bulb in 3M red tape - the kind that are okay to go over light bulbs. It took some time to wrap the lights carefully but everything is nice and red now.

BTW, I assume the odometer is lighted by a LED - is that replaceable, to something a little more red, and not orange?

Just paint it like I did. I did my intercooler spray switch, fog lights, dimmer and head light adjustment knob. The only thing that I havn't done is the ring around the ignition. I don't feel like taking the steering wheel off to get to it....Know what I mean?

I got these led's for the gauges in my OZ from a web site someone in the forum gave me (superbrightleds.com)to change them to blue. There the twist kind made just for gauges and they didn't work. They only light up part of the cluster but, the #74 led I got for the climate control worked good......Any suggestions?

you sure the twist kind aren't really #74 in the twist socket?
if they are, look around for wide field #74 leds, they put out like 100degrees of light, compared to the standard 15degrees of light the ones you have in there now do

seems that the bulb in the t1.5 cluster light is a #73 bulb not #74, which is why you cant do a direct swap out.. having trouble finding #73 wide beam bulbs though... emailed superbrightleds.com to see if they would make them.. still waiting on a reply.. also inquired about group buys on various bulb types that we use in our cars 7443/194/1156/74/t1.5

Ok got news back from superbrightleds.com, nogo on group stuff, but they said the next shippment of their t1.5 bulbs will have the flat tip on all colors... so they should work a helluva lot better for our cluster... they wouldnt give me a date on when that would arrive though.
