Or maybe I won't post pics. The LEDs sucked. I tried the regular and the flat top. I even tried filing the tops to "aim" the light. Then I got some "hyper white" incandescent bulbs (they fit the t1.5 base) and sure, whiter light, but not BRIGHTER light. So I'm done with the bulb swapping.

I did some experimenting, and the LED's are not the best for the climate control or cig lighter area. I just ordered the regular incandescents, with the coloured glass, and those look great.

The LED's are great for the sidemarker, license plate light, dome light, and trunk light.

All red bulbs in my car are the incandescents, all the whites are LED's. Pics are in my profile.

On a whim, I picked up two ambers of these for my front turn signals:

Those LEDs arent bad. not bad at all, I may have to try some. nice idea on the theatrical gel for the clock. i might have to do that, until i figure out some kind of replacement for that horrid clock. who else votes for LCD clock w/ red illumination?

what are the sizes on those interior bulbs you got the dome and trunk?

i know the number but the place I am ordering bulbs from asks for the actual size in mm

oh yeah by the way, your interior is very nice...i like all that red
wouldn't red interior dome lights really do the trick and make it super red?

nice work

Thanks for the compliments.

I played around with creating a theatrical gel overlay for the dome now that I have an LED array bright enough to shine through, but white light was leaking through. I'm thinking a paint job is in order.

The Dome light and trnk are 34mm I believe, but you can get away with a few extra, just squeeze it in there. The smallest that site offered was 39, and the 3-LED array one fit fine. Just keep in mind that LED's have a Pos/Neg, so if they don't light up when you put them in, take it out right away and flip it around.

Don't buy red LED's for the console lights, just stay with regular bulbs with tinted glass. It seems LED's don't disperse light properly.

Voltage/Watt specs for bulbs:
Dome light: 12V/7.5W
Trunk light: 12V/5W

Good luck.

Hey everyone. I just bought my 03 Lancer ES last weekend. I just happened onto this site and can't wait to start doing some minor mods. The first thing I did was changing the color of the intrument cluster and climate control. I did this by actually painting the bulbs. Yeah its not as bright as it used to be, but I always turn down the brightness anyways. Let me know what you think. Going to try and post a pic.

Edit: well can't figure out why my pics won't post. Check my profile for pics of my instrument panel.

Since I can't understand a damn thing about the interior bulb swap, im going to change to exterior. I read on here that the front and rear turn signals are 1156, but according to silvania's website and myself and advance auto parts trying to get 1156's in the slots they don't line up. On silvania's website they are listed as 7507 bulbs. Anyone know anymore about this?
