My ES didnt have the stripe either... I've seen it on several though. Not real sure how to remove it... probably similar to debadging the trunk? Heat it up

i have a black es and it comes with a red stripe across each side. im also planning to take it off.. using most likely goo gone. im hoping that wont mess up the job.. my friend used goo gone for the stripes of his car and they came off pretty cleanly..

a good strong hair-dryer, plenty of goo-gone, and lots of hard work should get it off. Just let the goo-gone soak into it really good.

hey, thanks for the replies everyone, I haven't had the chance to look at them over the weekend, so I already took the stripes off before i got the chance to look them. I dont know how many of you subscribed to this thread, but the stripes just came right off. I got home from work after posting the question, and just looked at it, and peeled them right off. Weird that some of your cars didn't come with them, maybe it was an option? I dont know, cuz I got my car from Hertz, but i've seen alot of lancers with the stripe. anyway, thanks again!

It depends on the dealership, most Mitsubishi dealers don't put pinstriping on the cars, but a used car dealership like Hertz puts pinstriping on all of their cars. My sister got her ES from Hertz too, sure enough it had pinstriping. Super easy to take off, nowhere near as hard as debadging.
