Wow, didn't think this post would go on so long.
Anyway, I'm looking into the film to go on top of the clock, as well as possibly removing the clock and playing with the LCD display.
I've also ordered some red LED bulbs online, to replace some of the painted ones that aren't bright enough.
Will post pics when finished. Cheers!

may seem like a stupid quesion, and idk if theres a tutorial...but do you pop off the part where the ac and heat controls are and just paint the bulbs whatever color? if so, how hard is it?

1) Remove climate control knobs.
2) Unscrew two screws holding control unit to dash plate.
3) Remove dash plate.
4) Unscrew two screws holding the clear "light guide" to the control unit.
5) Remove bulbs, paint.
6) Reverse process to install.
The bulb for the ashtray and cigarette lighter are pretty easily accessible, even if you don't remove the console.
Saran wrap can give you trouble, like if there are places where it overlaps, there will be more light filtered, and create an almost pink colour. Even when I was painting with acrylic, any inconsistencies in layering would create an undesirable effect with the colour showing through.
