Finally, all red.

After playing around with different paints, finally got it right. Ashtray, cigarette lighter, climate controls, and dome light all red.

Humbro brand red enamel, I guess Testor's enamel will do just as well. Acrylics suck, the coating becomes a matte finish and filters out too much light.

Now, does anyone know how to do the clock?

Yeah id figure that too. Only real option would be to possibly remove the front clear section and put like translucent red tape on the inside.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe just some simple red tinting film over top, but that might peel.

Going to call the dealer and see if the clock part is expensive, if not I'll get one to tinker.

just go to a store that sells lighting equipment for A/V crews
buy some film that lighting directors use for stage lights and put that over it. there are millions of colors of it and it won't ever melt or peal(if adhesive)

If you used paint, it might burn up since those lights get hot very FAST!

I like to keep mine that off gray colour. It adds character.

actually, those bulbs are pretty low wattage, i'm not sure how much heat they generate. and even if they do, enamel doesn't burn easily, once it dries, it's like a layer of nail polish. acrylic might burn under high heat.
