Cigarette Burn on my Seat
Cigarette Burn on my Seat
All,
Is there anyway to fix a cigarette burn on my cloth seat? it's a size of a small button.
I called the Mitsu dealer and they wanted over $500 to replace the cloth.
Any help would be apprecaited

This is something the "Truth.com" people should get involved with.
"Every day 12000 kids are orphaned by cigarettes. . . More importantly over 50 000 car seats in the US are ruined"
The seats are a nylon blend. I don't think there's anything you can do for it. BUT you may want to get in touch with a local auto detaling supply shop and see what they have to offer.

I actually do upholstery work so maybe I can help.
Short of completly replacing the seat cover its still gonna be slightly visible though. What I would do is find some thread that matches the seat cover, then get yourself a curved harness maker needle. Then all you have to do is sew it up.
Make sure you have a nice tight stitch and be sure to grab enough excess material on the sides of the hole so the thread won't pull through. It should come out descent if you take your time. Like I said You will still be able to see the stitching but at least you won't have a hole and it will also keep it from growing larger.

see my bro uses powdered fabric and puts a lite drop of supperglue then sprinkle the powder on the glue and press down not to hard because the glue will come through. once dry then he uses a color pencil to match the seat pattern.
