PS2, XBOX, Gamecube. Whos got them?

I've got a DVD head unit and i'm trying to figure out where to stick a PS2/Xbox in the car. I was leaning towards using an XBOX because you can store CD's on the hard drive therefore eliminating the hefty book taking up the floor of my back seat. I would like to keep it assessable to the driver or front passenger. Does anyone have any ideas on placement? I'm not sure if I want to fill up my glove box with it so that's basically out of the question. I was thinking of under the back seats, under the glove box, or anywhere else.

Also on a side note. What is under the hump on the floor in the back seat? Anything useful like wiring or translines? Could modded to make a nice storage compartment.

maybe you could put it under the front passenger seat. under the back seat would be good too, if you made a cubby hole or something. not sure what's under there though.

Sadly I've already taken up the space under the passenger seat with the receiver box for my head unit. I could fit satellite radio under there and that’s about it. The space under the back seats looks big enough but then I start to wonder about cooling and air flow.

Seriously if anyone knows what is under the hump let me know cus if it’s dead space its getting chopped.

Move the head unit brain to right behind the glove box in between the frame rail and the AC / Heat condensor unit. Fits very well I have my tuner box there . That way you have your whole pssr seat bottom avail.

the xbox doesnt fit completely under the seat. i have mine under the passenger seat with the front of the xbox faceing the back of the car. but it kinda sticks out into the foot area of the back seat. but its doesnt take up to much space.

Now I've left my PS2 and XBOX running over night in some cases and never ran into any over heating issues. Will it be a concern if installed in a car for days during summer or for ventitlation purposes?

If it was installed under the backseat with the front facing out you could still have access to it and have a controller run under the floor to the front somewhere. thus having access to the system to play music or games.

You could also get a Pelican wireless controller so you wouldn't have wires running everwhere. Their only $40

if you are going to use an xbox, you can actually take the box apart and put the harddrive only in on place and then make a frame and molding for the cd tray to come out of becuase they are 2 seperate parts, harddrive, cd tray. some guy with an integra had xbox where his cd player goes, he did it by just keeping the harddrive and not the clunky box and everything.

gamecube is by far the smallest... so that would work the best. If you are looking to use an XBOX, like HotShot said, take it apart and do a custom setup.

It's possible to remove the hard drive and cd unit in the XBOX? First I have ever heard about that. Considering i'm planning on using a used xbox for my set up might be something worth looking into.

Its small but its also oddly shaped a PS2 would go good if u take out arm rest in the back seat and put it in there, people from this forum have done it and it looks really good.

I was thinking of doing something like that but i don't want to ruin the resale value or make something a pain to convert back to stock.

eventually i'm going to have to bite the bullet on a set up
