is goo gone safe on clear coat?

i know this seems like a stupid stupid stupid question, i just bought this goo gone thing, and its not ur conventional goo gone, this is Goo Gone Automotive Spray Gel.

i know i know, the word "automotive" should be enough to confirm that its safe....however i'm concerned cuz it sez stuff like:
removes tar, oil, grease and shyt, it seems like it removes shyt that leaks off a car, but it never acutally sez things like, "willl not destroy clear coat," instead it sez its good on woodfinish, and walls and ****.

it sprays purple liquidy gel thing....

can anyone confirm if this is safe?

regular goo gone is ok on clearcoats so I cant see the automotive being bad... most people use goo gone to remove the glue that holds on the lettering on the trunks and stuff... and its **** not shyt!

goo gone is not really that safe on clearcoat.. if you use any type of goo-gone on your car, just make sure you wax that area you use it on several times to make sure. because if you dont, it'll eat through the clearcoat. ask oz-e, he'll tell you and i've seen his trunk in person.. sorry for shoutin you out O, its for beneficial purposes only

I used some of this on my black evo when removing the lancer emblems on the trunk. It dulled the paint a little and left a white smug behind, but waxing the trunk fixed this problem. I had to wax the area a few times, however.

I might try something different if I had to do over.

Stoner, yeah Stoner, makes a decent product that's safe for use on clearcoats called Tarminator: www.tarminator.com

I used the regular non "automotive" goo gone that you can get at any home depot. I used it on my Black evo and I did notice some ghost letters right after. However I wahed and waxed the car 5 days later and now you can not see anything. It looks perfect...
