Cool Under Corona's Hood

At the last Nathan's meet I was so friggin embarassed when Al asked to look under the hood. I was like uh.........sure.......bay was dirty and FUGLY! Well after cleaning the Engine bay and getting a Silicon Hose kit, and a new Cold air filter I decided to get to work.

Here are pics of my latest work.

The Headers are exposed because at the time the cover had wet primer and it was still in the garage drying.

Much respect to RRM
Although I got the silicon hoses courtesy of your local Auto Zone
That used to be a silver strut bar with the black vinyl RRM letters. I painted over it and peeled off the vinyl...and VIOLA! Silver RRM logo on Daytona Yellow Strur bar!

Re: Re: Re: Under Corona's Hood

The cold air filter I bought had a 3" diameter. The stock unit on the Lancer is 4". So I went to the plumbing section of Home Depot and got a piece of sewer rubber that was 4" at one end and 3" at the other. Worked out for me because it acts like an adaptor but also pushes filter closer behind grill allowing it to get that ram of cold air at higer speeds.
That pinkish tint on the filter is K&N filter oil I sprayed on it to keep dry junk from getting into my internals.

Yup Radiator mounts and that thing that holds your battery in place. All that had yet to dry.
And I am leaving the valve cover silver.

As for those decals...Long F'ing story. I totally F'ed up the vinyl kit, now I am stuck with the front half until I get bored of it and rip that **** off. I got so mad when I accidentally ripped the vinyl.
