Had some time before my weekend trip, so i went out and took the dash out...i have to say that it was alot easier than what i thought it was gonna be. Took me maybe 45 minutes top.
Happy Easter everyone! No progress today because of festivities. Although The ES has a blown head gasket so Im gonna have to tear that apart as well...no rest for the wicked
Got the engine out today! Wasnt much of a struggle...took the trans off and pulled the engine out itself...now gonna clean up the bay a bit, maybe paint it...dunno yet. Meanwhile gonna order all the neccessary items to rebuild this motor and drop in the ES
Lil update...been feeling a bit under the weather so nothing really happened other than me searching for the needed parts for the 5 lug swap. I may have to end up buying most of everything new, but Im trying to help a brotha out if they need stuff out of their garage. Waiting for a couple replies here as well. Also decided that im just going to sell the pulled engine instead of rebuilding it. Maybe rebuild it in the future if needed, but for now its just gonna chill until its sold or needed.
nice! did you stick with the 4 lug or convert to 5? which dual piston did you go with? i think i remember seeing that i could use the diamante calipers.
theres a lot going on in this engine bay too... ppo (previous previous owner) apparently had a bunch of stuff installed poorly...remote start, system, alarm which were all disconnected (snipped) and most of the wires were ran half assed. ive already replaced several parts before like all the motor mounts, which were completely shot as well as the struts.
I kept the 4 lug. The calipers that I used were from a 1995 turbocharged Eclipse, basically any 2g awd dsm or early 90s Diamante will work.
Best of luck with the build, I'm sure you know what you're up against so that makes it all easier.
MurphDurph what are you doing to that motor? I'm currently on the same page on you. But instead of the 4g94 I'm gunna use the 4g64 you should consider the swap there are many options available!
