Question OZ Rally gauge light bulbs???

I've tried searching for the answer to my question, but to no avail. So as a last resort I am starting this thread hoping that someone out there knows.

Does anyone know what size light bulbs (there are four of them, all the same size) fit in the gauge cluster of the OZ Rally?

Thanks for your help with this!

I only saw three. And I thought one was a different size. Anyways you need a regular non led wedge bulb, if you get the led the light dispersement doesn't work, it looks bad. I ripped my guages apart and was going to install the 194 size but those do not fit. The only way yo ghange then would be to get new "gels" the little condom things that fit over the light to change the color.

There's more info in the "console all in one how to" thread in show and shine.

I've actually read that whole post and the lightbulbs he says to use are the wrong size. I know this because I ordered the size he said to and took apart my gauge cluster last night and they dont fit and he said you only needed two, and there are four lights.

Hey guys, that's my thread, and sorry for the confusion. If you read to the bottom, there's a slight bit of discussion about the T1.5 bulbs, which is the correct gauge cluster bulb.

We've beaten the topic around quite a bit, and I've come to the conclusion that without a complete gauge face swap, there's no good looking way to change your cluster colour to something else.

This is because the actual colour filtering is done by the gauge face, you'll find that all the bulbs you remove from the gauge face are all white.

More on this later, I'm working on a project right now, and if all goes well, I'll be posting some new information up. Just don't hold your breaths, you might get blue in the face.

Thats really odd because when I pulled the cluster out yesterday, all my bulbs are white but with the red condom covers. This leads me to believe that the bulbs can be changed to a different color. The only thing I could see that actually filters the light are the needles which are red plastic, so I can't change those colors.

It is very strange, agreed, because if you try to put the lights back on without the red condoms, the gauges end up being showing white, but dimmer than before, which is like WTF because shouldn't more light be coming through?

I've purchased blue LED T1.5 bulbs, but I'm waiting on some results on my gauges to put them in. However, also as discussed, light dispersal on LED's is not the same as regular bulbs, which creates a whole new problem itself.

*sigh*

Thats really odd. Let me know what you get with those T1.5 bulbs or if you find anything that works. Thanks!

I had an idea on how you "might" be able to change the face colors but it requires doing drastic things... basically my idea was to buy those "hot wires" that is available from almost any pep boys autozone etc, and hardwiring them to one of the sockets behind the cluster... then using some type of adhesive to attach the wire directly to the back of the gauge face... however, since I have not taken mine apart I do not know if there is the space to do such an application. If you think about it though, you can run those wires around the face right over the lines that show the light.,.. therefore you can get whatever color you want and it should come through really well...

just a thought

There would be enough space. I have also though about trying to replace the light guides. But I am not sure if that would even work. I might just have to leave the gauges stock. I was going for an all blue lighted interior, since that the color I've chosen to accent my Black lancer (all mods in my engine are blue). I put in blue instrument lights yesterday and they look cool, but are pretty dim. Any ideas on how to increase the intensity? Thanks for your help.

Oh, and so the bulb size for the gauges is T1.5 right? Any idea on where I could get some?
Autolumination.com doesn't appear to haev any that I could find.

Thanks

I'm having some gauge problems right now. I checked the fuses under the driver dash and the fuse in the hood and all are good. My guage lights do not light up at all. I need help fast.

I just currently installed a radar connection into my cig and grounded near it. I read other post but none experienced this problem.

I search, but i cant find an answer.
