Changing Gauge Lights...

I know there have been a few topics about this before, but no one ever followed through with posting if they actually did it or not... and if they did, how it looked.

I want to change my gauge cluster lights to blue, I know where to get the LED's and all that jazz, just wondering if anyone has done it yet, and if so, did they have any problems in not being able to see the gauge lights at night or were the LED's bright enough, etc?

i changed my lights to blue. i used the covers tho. the only problem ive had is that its not as dark as i would have liked. it turned out to be a kinda light, aqua blue. the other problem that i had was the odometer. i couldnt figure out how to change that color, cause i was kinda worried about tryin to take it off.

the one benefit is that it definately looks a lot better than stock.

p.s. im not sure about this but i heard that LEDs dont disperse the light that well, so u may wanna think about using just regular lights

I'm getting those reverse glow gauges too. I hate the red lights. Plus I had the glow gauges for my 240SX.

So far my gauge evolution... (no pun intended)

StreetRacerParts wants too much for the glow gauges, eBay has then for a little less.

I did mine in blue. Darker than fenix's because I used colored lighting gel instead of the bulb covers. the problem is the gauges use a diffuser to spread the light across the faces. LEDs actaully gave less light than regular bulbs... I even tried to aim them by shaving the tops of the LEDs AND I painted the inside of the gauge cover with chrome paint to get as much reflection as I could.... I don't remember what I have in the car now, but I tried bulbs without the covers, LEDs and these super small incandescent bulbs... I'm still not 100% happy, but at least they're blue and readable at night.
