Question Sway Bars

Does anyone know if the sway bar on the 2003 OZ Lancer is thicker than the 2002 model? I was at the dealer the other day getting something checked out and I noticed on a 2002 RMR edition OZ that the sway bar was black in color(2003 is gray), and that it was much thinner to the eye than the one on my '03?? Is this the case, and if so, why by a rear sway bar from RRM, if the thickness on the 03 is the same?? No disrepsect to the guys at RRM, they are awesome. Just looking for some clarification because it seems most of the aftermarket parts are targetted at the 2002 OZ rather than the '03

To reduce understeer assuming your observation was correct. (And it's quite possible)

I'm guessing the same...

Thicker rear sway bar -> more weight transfer from the wheel losing grip to the one has more grip -> better grip for the rear axle -> lessen the effect of understeer.

Yeah I know why the sway bar is there, but I was wondering if the 2003 OZ sway bar is the same size as the one offered from RRM??

i really doubt that it is . . unless somebody can compare the 2002 sway bar and the 2003 sway bar and show the difference . . . any confirmations?

Sway bar on the O2 and 03 Lancer OZ is the same. They are both very small diameter. Our bar is almost twice as thick but about 30% stiffer. Designed specifically for the Lancer.
