Unhappy suspension problem i think

alright, ever since i lowered my car i have this horrible boing, bong type noise whenever i turn the wheel. as i turn the wheel i hear that bong noise like say 15 times as i turn from the middle to all the way left. same to the right, i dont know what this noise is coming from, hopefully the springs but if not then uhh-oh.
please post any idea of what this could be as its starting to worry me.
thanks in advance

your signature says you have, "fcd coilover sleeves(3 1/2" drop)" ..

do you really have a 3.5" drop? if so, thats your problem right there.. your tire may be hitting or rubbing inside the fender. Add your 17" rims to it .. and that could be the problem.

Did you take the rubber stops out? I'm not sure if that is applicable for coil-overs but you need to for lowering springs. (well you don't need to but you should)

If you are experiencing it in the front I am not sure what your problem is. I just recently had Progress springs installed, and it dumped my rear so bad that I had to reinstall the stock springs. It did not matter which springs I had installed, I experience a squeaking noise coming from the back. I heard it could be the control arms, or the strut needs to be secured more.

The sound that you are experiencing is it a squeak, or does it sound like metal is hitting against metal? Do you experience any rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. I experience that whenever I turn and I have been trying to come up with a solution to that problem for a while now.

ya there coilover sleeves from ebay from fcdtuning they could go even lower but then they'll rub. im sure the tires are not rubbing anywhere cause i took out the stock fender liners and fabbed my own. also my 17's are in the basement for winter, right now i have the stock 14" steelies on my car. this noise sounds like the spring is building up pressure by twisting and then releaseing back to normal or something, producing a boing sound.
thanks anyways though for that amazing reply in only 4 min. man this place is fast. wow.

i took the stops out and it sounds like them big chinese things they hit that go boooong, but this noise is only like 1 sec long, and only occurs when at a full stop or barely moving and turning

are you sure the coilover is in right side up....i know with lowering springs if they are upside down they are off just slightly and make that noise.

Also, if its only when you turn the wheel then i doubt its the springs hitting each other....

Trying raising the car by about 2 inches to a 1.5 drop and see if it still makes the noise....

This is the consequences of buying universal ebay suspension.....RRM has a great deal on progress lowering springs right now if you cant get these to work out right.

Also, I give it only a few weeks maybe less before you blow struts with a 3.5 drop on factory with the wrong spring rates in.

If you properly greesed all the bushings it shouldn't squeek.

i know, i already blew the struts but that doesnt bother me the ride isnt that bad, besides it looks sick that low and surprisingly camber isnt off that much. btw:my old civic is worse, yes i have rice but trying to sell it. ill take your advice and raise it up first if that dont work well then i guess i gotta pull the wheels. there installed right i know for sure, the holes are lined up and they are in right side up. also, i woudve bought rrm but i dont have cash for good quality not cheap parts and wanted it lower than 1.8" or whatever it progress springs are. these were $105 for a fully adjustable setup, and have a good ride. but now i see that they may not have been worth it, but not sure just yet.

bbl: around 3pm
thanks again for all your suggestions
ill let yall know what the problem is later once i find it.

blown struts could be the first problem.....all that weight now relies on your springs, not good qualtiy springs and something might cause them to bend wrong or whatever

my advice take them out and go stock or get the tein coilovers, basic or super street.

You say its sick how low it is but you gotta pay to play.....
