Help me decide between a tire.

I'll be purchasing tires for my stock oz wheels and can't decide between these three. I need your help! I'm looking for great dry handling as well as wet handling. I dont need to worry about snow because i have set of snow tires. I also will be going to track about 1c every 2 months just to have a little fun. I'll be putting around 15kmiles on the tire.

Thanks for your help
-Tyler

i voted for toyo, theyre the only one of those tires that i have owned. they are great for road, whether it is wet or dry i have never been concerned about them, and they hold very well. however, eboy had told me that they are not any good for the track and autoX.

I voted for the Falkens because you said you'll be driving daily about 15k per year. Those are all good choices, but I believe the Falkens will last the longest, and its handling is not too far from the other two. The Toyos probably have the best handling, but the price tag an longevity concern me, while the BFG is also kind of pricey and I haven't seen ANY performance driver using that exact model. I almost got the Ziex myself, but since my brother has been really fond of his Cooper Zeons, I went with that instead.

I just got the ziex ze-512s for my OZ from my local discount tire (www.discounttire.com). They're great so far (compared to the yokos I had previously). Haven't had a chance to drive on any wet roads yet, so i'm not sure how they are in that department.

I dont have any first hand experience with the BFGs or the Toyos. Have you looked into the falken azenis? Dont know how good they'd be on wet roads, but for dry conditions they're worth it.

Thanks for the site nicktutt! hey brian, I was REALLY thinking about those new cooper ZEONS. The tread pattern looks out of this world! How does ur bro like them!? I havent heard any reviews about them because they are so new..They sound like a very impressive tire though.

ps. THERE IS NO WAY, im putting kumho 711s on my car.

I believe the G sports hold the record for dry pavement lateral g-forces in a sport compact car, from the ratings on Tirerack they seem to be really good tires.

a car club member had the falkens and hated them- lots of chunking and not a lot of grip. I would go for the Toyos, even though I HATED my FZ4s from day one. The good news is they didn't throw blocks of rubber all over the track, but their wet and dry traction left lots to be desired. In fact (Brian will appreciate this) my Azenis sports have better hydroplane resistance than the FZ4s do. Seriously.

The Azenis is a great tire but it won't last long at all. We all race on them for street tire classes in autocross, but for a daily driver, you'll be lucky to get a year out of them. Most of my fellow racers report 10-20k miles on them. That's why I used to drive around on stock rubber and then switch to my race wheels the day before a race. And I agree, the Azenis gets great wet traction as well, but it's still not a practical daily driver tire.

My brother loves the Coopers, he even did an autocross with them. They have medium size tread blocks so you shouldn't get any chunking but you'll still get good wet traction. So far I'm happy with mine too, but there's only about 500 miles on mine.

Well, that makes a small difference considering you'll want something to put some traction down on the newly added horsepower, but those are all decent choices still.

Its so hard to decide when the voting is so close.... I may just go with the cheaper tire (falken) but I dont want to see "chunks" coming out lol when i go to the track like you guys are sayin...
