Okay the other day i was driving around 80 and a car on the highway got in front of me going like 25(i have no clue why) and had to push my brakes hard, but after that i noticed a nasty smell coming from the front brakes, and now they dont stop right , and i have to push the pedal farther just to stop, can anyone help me??? ps. i checked my pads and there good(new ceramic pads) and the disk doesnt look warpped, i was thinking that my brake fluid went bad, is that possible????(used dot 4 )

dude that sucks i hate when people do that. i dont think the brake fluid can go bad... all it is for is to allow pressure to travel... check the master cylinder and see maybe some squirted out and you just have to add more. then check the brake lines for leaks, could be possible you sprung one smashing the brake.
hope this helps a lil

thanks but i took apart my front brakes and every thing looks good, no fluid leak anywhere(cylinder or lines), i think it is the fluid though , because if i push my brakes all the way down it doesnt stop the tires completly, either that or i damaged my brake cylinder's

Any chance the pads got "high-speed" glazed during the stop? That kind of rotors do you have?

You know i just remember...you might have an air bubble in the line. that would cause a loss in the pressure. Get your brakes bleed.

It's not like your asking for 12" subs or a turbo-charger. Your asking for something that is essential for the car to function.

Would your parents rather pay about $40 to get the brakes checked to find out what's wrong.
OR
receive a call from the police saying that their son has been in an accident.

Of course your last option is to not drive your car at all until you work to get enough money to get the brakes fixed.

As for your phone bill: only use a cell phone for emergencies only; don't hold conversations longer than 5 min.
