Pardon my ignorance but whats the difference between springs and coilovers? Is it a good idea to have Tien springs with megan coilovers?
Also, can I install Tien springs and then later can I install the coilovers. Thanks for any help!

Megan coil-overs:
Lower spring kit:
The lowering spring kits replace the factory springs located on the struts. You will re-use the factory struts with a lower spring kit. I do not know of any aftermarket struts right now. Eibach, WORKS, RRM, and Tein all make lowering springs for the 08+. There may be a couple more kits that I am unaware of.
The coil-over suspension setup offers adjustability, where the factory setup does not. You can adjust stiffness/ride-height with coil-overs. They usually offer better handling around corners, but may deliver a stiffer ride on the street. Coil-overs are also a lot more expensive.
I would not purchase a lowering spring kit, and then buy coil-overs. That would just be a waste of money. Choose which one you want, and stick with it. The standard Eibach pro-kit is always a popular choice for daily drivers, usually giving around a 1" drop.
Also remember to get camber bolts, or ask the technician at the alignment place about camber bolts. You will always need an alignment after any suspension-angle changing mod, such as lowering springs. You will also need four camber bolts, one for each wheel.
I'm certified in alignments at my shop, and do these custom alignments on vehicles everyday. Do not let a shop tell you the camber can not be adjusted!! They do sell camber bolts for the 08+ lancers. They will be installed in the top hole of the strut, replacing the factory bolt. If you need any more help just shoot me a PM!

Camber bolts change camber as the head of the bolt is turned, due to its egg-shape shaft. You adjust these bolts while the vehicle is hooked up to an alignment machine (such as a Hunter target machine). Once the vehicle is on the machine and all ready to adjust, you loosen both bolts on the strut, and turn the camber bolt with a socket or wrench until it brings the camber into specifiation.

I like the Works springs. It's not giving more stiffness than the stock GTS setup. Even my local mitsu dealer sells them. Unfortunately I am selling them for coil-overs. PM if interested.
