ES PRogress springs installed
so its like this, i got my springs isntalled, and i got this problem.
no no, its not what u all think, its not hte noise of squeaking or clanking, in fact they work great!!
i dunnow where alot of u installed ur shyt, but mine works perfectly and its got no noise.
now my problem is, its supposed to have dropped 1.7-8ish inches right? as progress/RRM claims, however, mine looks like it dropped atleast 2.3 inches. the front is like perfect, no wheel well holes. the back however, looks abit snug, like its nicely tucked in the wheel well like a dropped car, but thatst he thing, i think its dropped too much, as opposed to the 1.7-8ish inches. and this is not after the spring has set in, this is since the beginning.
now cuz the roads here in montreal ares SO ****in bad, that the slightest little potholes make a big BANG BOOM noise. and i did cut the bumpstop abit more than hafl. but trust me, the mechanic who installed it knew what he was doing. he was explaing everything to me.
i'm just wondering why my drop was alot more than i thought, cuz now i gotta look into buying some aftermarket shocks.
whatever happened to the shocks that all the makers promised?
wheres the KONI shocks? the JICs are too expensive, the ralliarts are close to stock and the TEIN, looks like the best choice, but will it fit hte ES?
thanks for replying.

I'll tell you right now the ralliarts are a lot lot stiffer and more powerful than stock. I have The Ralliart struts with Progress springs for the oz and the drop wasn't as much as i thought it would be
In front there was about a 1.3-1.5 drop, looks real nice. Oddly enough the heights are slighty different on either side, but i blame that on the two front end accidents i had, but the rear, isn't dropped very much at all. It left my car standing slightyslanted forward, whcih looks hot, but i wish it was more 50/50 weighted. peace
looks can be decieving. I've heard that 1.5" always looks more than 1.5, but I'd also ask if you have anything in your trunk? subs, amps, etc. Kareem got a lot of sag when he had a few hundred pounds of stereo in his trunk. Just a thought.

nah man, i measured the drop and wrote it on the instruction paper progress springs came with, b4 and after drops. and clearly there liks like 2.2 inches.
it looks great tho i will admit, the front and back had equal drops and the back dont look lower, in fact the front looks abit lower.
i dont have anything heavy in the back.
so where can i hook myself up with some ralliart shocks? does it fit the ES? u have the part number by any chance?
the thing is, i need some REALLY stiff shocks to compensate for the big drop, i swear my car looks like a low rider, it has just abit more than 3 inches off the ground for clearance.
i scraped the front bumper and the tip of my greddy exhaust going in my driveway the first time, now i go EXCESSIVELY slowly.
do u know if the TEIN shocks will fit the ES?

The Tein shocks should fit the ES just fine, but those use different kinds of springs, so you'd be getting rid of your Progress springs. I'm not sure if RMR can get the Ralliart shocks still, but if not, hold out a little longer, as I believe Tokiko is coming out with a stiffer shock for the Lancer very soon.
