The chassis is the same so yes it will fit. The only modifications were done by essentially swapping motors and body panels while beefing up the suspension and brakes.

If it actually bolts to the firewall and covers either 2 or 3 bolts on each strut, I'd say definitely.

Dah...Mitsubishi is getting into using engine plastics ala VW and Toyota...I hate that. Harder for maintenance and just covers all the lovely guts of the machine. Good looking piece though and the fact that it bolts to the firewall is a plus. Don't even want to know what the dealer will charge to buy it separately or if they'll just sell it as a Ralliart branded part.

Another question is if you'll need to buy the bracket that attaches to the firewall. After looking at my car next to an evo, we have the same parts, but there's a bracket that the strut bar bolts to in the middle, that doesn't come on the Lancer. But you can see where the bracket might bolt right on.

Didn't even think about that. Hooray for assumption. I wonder if that bracket would come with the brace or not? Would have to see an '04 non-RA version and see if the bracket is there without the strut bar.

The only reason I thought of it is because I compared my car with an Evo8 side-by-side trying to see why people say the Evo8 strut bar would not fit, which it does appear that it would fit except for the throttle body. So assuming the bracket either came with the bar or was available seperately, the ralliart one should fit just fine. But that, too, is an assumption.

BTW, if the non-RA version comes with the bracket but no strut bar, we could have a hay day buying the brackets from people who own '04 models

the bracket does not come with the bar, just checked the one we have in stock. the firewall's are different on the lancers with and without the bars. The ones with the bars have the bracket and holes built in, not just bolted on

Darn How much for the strut bar AND the firewall? ok, just kidding, but that's ok because I don't think SCCA autocross allows 3 point strut bars in most of the Lancer's classes.

Firstly, Sorry for bringing up an old post

Secondly, What would be the best option for installing a strut bar from a ralliart onto an OZ concerning the third mounting point.
1) Just don't attach it to the firewall
2) Make holes for the mounting in the fire wall - how hard is this?
3) Just remove the part of the strut bar that goes to the fire wall

Any input would be great

4) find a bar that will actually work on an OZ, since the RA one is designed to use the 3rd point, and might flex without it.

but out of your options, I'd say #1 would be ok
