Just got it about a month and a half ago and I'm lOoking to make some changes.
I want to find a set of coilovers. How far would you guys recommend lowering by the way? And a set of aftermarket wheels. Any suggestions? I can't find coilovers anywhere.

BC racing make good coilovers for the lancer that wont break the bank. Also the lowering depends on ur needs.

Thanks I'll check them out. I don't want to lower it to much, really just want to make it look a little better, I'm going to keep it fairly stock.

RRM (Road Race Motorsports) offers coilover kits from Tein and Megan, which are both under $1000. Tirerack offers two different KW coilover kits starting around $1700. I've found Tirerack isn't the cheapest place to get suspension stuff and KW stuff isn't always cheap to begin with. However, I've heard their products are very high quality, so this may be a case where you get what you pay for.

As for ride height, I personally wouldn't go more than an inch. Most cars don't have much room for drop before you regularly hit the bump stops, which leads to erratic handling and poor ride. It also puts more stress into your CV joints, which can cause problems down the road.

If you care about handling, adjusting the ride height based on corner wieghts is a good idea (based on what I've read in Grassroots Motorsports), though you need access to a place with the scales.
