Suspension question

Whats the lowest I can lower my car with 18" Rims without getting any rubbing? With 17" rims? and do you guys think I should get the tein coilovers or would it be more cost efficient to just go with the ground control coil overs? I did a search for these questions but could find nothing so If these questions have been asked before then I am sorry for not looking hard enough because this seems like a question that would be asked a lot.

ok, to answer your question 18" and 17" wheels will work , but the only problem that i know of is the 18" you will have to use 35.. 40 series tires ..and then you will have to make sure the off set is just inside you gaurd , but i would recomend going for the 17" myself ..with the 18"s you will have to use a super low profile tire , lke 35... 40 , 17" you can get away with 45 's and less wear and tear on your rims 40 series will bash your rims like mad if you hit any medium bumps ......... PS lwer your car to the max ....of 1.7 inchs no more

the dealership i bought my lancer from had a "fast and furious" lancer with some after market sheet and a set (which i drove and they would need more than an exhaust and some graphics to be near that) of 18s on it with around 1.5 inches of clearance...and a set of 17s with 225/40 tires will come up the same size as the 15 inch oz rims...

225 may cause you to rub if you cut the wheel btw. Just a warning.

Definetely not 225s especially if you plan to go 18s. 215 max 205 to be safe!

Look what's in each package. You're comparing two completely different kinds of coilovers. Essentially you're asking whether you should get springs or complete shocks.

I understood that but my main concern was how the car will drive afterwards. I dont want it to be really jumpy or anything like that. So I gues the question I should have asked is how do the ground Control coilovers compare to stock springs in terms of the smoothness of the ride?

Read the reviews for ground controls. They're the first coilovers that were available and I know plenty of people have installed and reviewed them. p911t has installed the teins and is the only one on the forums to have done so that I'm aware of. I swear 90% of the questions asked have already been answered in detail. If you take the 20 seconds to look and a few minutes to read you should have your answers.
